  1. I love seeing these bad boys parked in the compact care spots at Walmart!
  2. LOL ^ Some chicks like nerds....I still remember my parents being pissed at me for using the AOL connection for hours on end which took up the phone line to play Rainbow 6.
  3. What the HE double hockey sticks is Lebanese Mediterranean food?
  4. All of you guys are dead on...I think that the sizes are really close from the midsize to the full size and the gas mileage and price difference are almost identical. I guess they would be good for people who cant park a full size truck very well. Its like anything else in life...better to spend a bit more money on something that you will not regret than to compromise and have hesitations later.
  5. Sam...everyone has 1 or two jobs in their life that you come away saying "man I cant imagine doing this for the rest of my life" Mine was shortly after graduating college. I was expediting commercial and residential construction permits all across the country. After sitting behind a desk for a year trying to navigate through all of the governmental red tape and bs that is permitting I quit. All to become a maintenance dude for a DCFS organization. They pay sucks but man I love my work. Find an occupation that you enjoy and you will be the richest man on earth. (besides finding Jesus of course)
  6. Work update....So I got a work order in today from one of the case managers from a program at the residential treatment facility that I work at. She said that this particular youth reported a strong smell coming from the heat register. They assumed that a mouse had found its way inside of the unit. Upon further examination, I removed the cover and discovered that this particular youth decided to use his heat register as a urinal!!! There was a huge pool of yellow piss sitting inside of the radiator causing the whole hallway to reek!! After donning some gloves and a bit of bleach the problem was taken care of. Heat + Urine = worst smell ever!
  7. Thanks Samuel! Do you know what % goes to funding research?? lol we all love big chests!!!
  8. After watching depressing local news day after day (Chicago news) I love seeing guys like this still holding on to the American spirit of getting things done....being creative...using your brain and skills to produce something of quality and of use! Get off your butt and make something people!!!
  9. Yoga pants are quite possibly the best invention of all mankind. However my daughters will never wear them! lol I think smoking meat for me is just relaxing. There are so many ways and techniques you can use that there is really no right or wrong way. Also, its nice to have about 8 hrs to sit, drink beer and think about the glorious meat the good Lord has provided.
  10. Awesome!! Cordless has really made the turn
  11. Yesterday I got a call from one of our staff members that they blew out a tires on one of our company vehicles. A few kids (clients that are in the residential treatment program) were in the vehicle. I took the opportunity to show them the proper way to change a tire. I had them read through the owner's manual to find the correct jack points and the 3 12-15yr olds were able to change the tire with little direction from myself. I think this is an important skill that more father's and mentors should make a point to teach their loved ones how to do.
  12. So after a long hiatus GM is coming out with 2 new midsize pickups. The Chevy Colorado and the GMC Canyon. Just wondering if anyone was interested in these...
  13. Call me weird .....but I secretly enjoy emergency situations like a tire blow out....of course its frustrating, and expensive but its nice to know you have the tools and know how to take care of the problem yourself....on your terms without relying on anyone else. Guess its the American in me. If you have ever seen A Christmas Story you know what Im talking about.! Oh fuuuuuudge!
  14. So a couple of guys at work got into a discussion about their beloved meat smokers. I kind of got the cold shoulder after confessing that I only had a gas grill. So after doing some research on the internet I soon found out that there are endless ways one can build their own smoker. I quickly decided on probably the simplest design of them all...the UDS. or Ugly Drum Smoker. I found a dude in my local newspaper selling food grade drums for $15 bucks. Bought two on them. One for me and one for my old man. After doing a very hot burn of the inside to sanitize and knock off the paint, drilling holes on the bottom and top for air intakes and exhaust and putting together a fire basket that holds charcoal and wood chips I was done! This was a fun project and the sky is the limit on the design potential. Great for pulled pork, pork ribs, beer can chicken and countless other savory meats! PS don't know why all of the photos are tilted 90 degrees.
  15. Maybe even just starting out with some DeWalt, Milwaukee....(insert your fav brand) T-shirts geared towards the cause. I think its cool that even harden tradesmen can help support this great cause by wearing some pink this month. Seems like the disease has affected quite a bit of us just on this forum alone.
  16. Sweet idea conductor. My wife and I bought a 1926 PA license plate from the American Picker's place in Iowa. Pretty much the only thing I could buy in the place without dipping into the tool fund. Its a pretty neat shop way smaller than it looks on TV...and the John Deere combine plant is a stone's throw away. Its a free tour of an amazing operation. Definitely worth the trip if you are in the Midwest.
  17. One thing I can recommend is to not go further than 4-5ft with the flexible aluminum vent pipe. Anything past that I would def suggest solid 4in sheet metal vent. Creates way less lint build up in the smooth sheet metal opposed to all the lint catching ribs in the flexible aluminum.
  18. If only one of the quality brands would come out with some pink tool action. Would you buy a pink DeWalt impact?
  19. What a find...I am jealous.
  20. That is awesome! I like that you can use either side. Do you know what the price points are?
  21. As you all should know this month is Breast Cancer Awareness month. At work it is encouraged to wear pink in support of awareness and research support. One of the guys I work with always brings in his pink tool set and tries to do all of the jobs that he can with them.
  22. If 2 blades are good Ill bet 7 are better! Sounds like a Gillette Razor commercial. I would be concerned of the blades catching each other.
  23. Yeah never really crossed my mind to sharpen circ saw blades....I guess im not that patient....its an excuse to make a trip to the hardware store and buy new blades along with some other crap I don't need.
  24. I think a lot of these tool manufactures are smart marketers. Its like cell phone technology its all about sales... You don't release a new product while the old one is still hot. The truth is why would they come out with a 6.0ah battery now while they can sell the shit out of the 5.0ah. I think they sit on the technology until a competitor comes along with an upgrade or there is a market swing
