  1. My dryer vent is probably 20 ft long and goes underneath the bathroom floor. It's made of flexible plastic tube reinforced with wire and it's horrible. I can't wait until I rip up the floor to put down tile so I can replace the flexi-hose.

Twice a year, I have to get out the flex brush and the drill and clean the entire thing out. If you haven't ever cleaned the inside of a clothes dryer, you'd be amazed and horrified just how much lint gets trapped inside. We actually had a small fire a few years back that luckily didn't get much past the smouldering stage, but now I clean it religiously.

Just another voice reminding people to clean out not just the vent but also the dryer itself.

Well, the Ridgid hyperdrive 16 gauge is $269. I honestly can see Milwaukee undercutting Ridgid, especially with the premium features these are supposed to have. I'd WAG it and say $329 tool only? I'm probably wrong and they'll likely cost even more.

Toolguyd made a post that estimates that the kits (presumably with a 2 AH battery) will be $399 and bare tool will run you $349.  Accurate?  Probably, those seem like reasonable prices, though the delta between kit and bare tool is usually more than $50, so who knows.

  3. I have the same linesman in the Klein J2000 series. Crimp and fish tape puller.

The Kleins are heavy and poorly balanced which is why I am replacing them. The Knipex feel better in the hand and don't feel lop sided. Also, the Knipex require a little less force.

Well that makes my decision that much easier.

    Thanks!

  4. Any rumor on the price point yet? I wouldn't mind adding one to my collection if the price is right.

I've been eyeballing those linesman pliers. I have a pair of the insulated Knipex linesmans, but I sort of wanted a non-insulated set. I've been up in the air as to whether I want the Knipex or the Klein's. Oddly enough, the Knipex is cheaper.

  6. No framer? [emoji20] The Dewalt makes blocking and back framing so much easier and handier. I was really hoping for one of them. Maybe it will happen when they release the Fuel Hybrid[emoji768] 10" mitre saw I want too. Likely shortly after pigs fly or Drumfp becomes the president.

I'd guess that a framer is in the works.

  7. I get the same results.

Exactly the same here. Actual unread posts show up with the blue bar next to them, but then again read posts also show up, which they shouldn't.

A similar problem occurs with the sub forum screens. From the forum list, you're supposed to see a blue bar next to the forums that have new posts. This used to work, pre upgrade. It does not now. The pictures show this behavior.

This screen thinks that there are no new posts.

When I open a sub forum, there are in fact new posts.

  8.

When I'm not collecting tools, destroying my house, making fun things in the garage or chasing after little people (2 & 3 year olds, not midgets), I spend my time in an office. Now, recently, they decided to renovate a section of the building for some reason or another. I had the misfortune of losing my office and getting parked on a cubicle right next to the construction. Here's what I get to sit next to every day.

I work for a very large company, so money isn't an issue. The contractors they hired went through the trouble to put on a negative pressure system, which I get to listen to all day long and which you can see by the blowing plastic sheeting on the picture. What the didn't do however was to read the manual that described the concept on how negative pressure systems work and why you use them. They haven't bothered to seal up the space or provide an external air supply. So, all of the fumes from the paint, drywall mud, carpet cement, cement cleaner, curing concrete, drywall dust and everything else they bring on there circulates all through the entire office.

When they first started, we got to listen to an air hammer digging a channel into the concrete floor fir two days straight. At least they aren't hammering and drilling all day long anymore.

So, for the pros in the crew, is this what you guys see on a commercial renovation? Sorry for venting, but I've been going home every day nauseated and with a splitting headache from this crap and it's just getting old.

  9. Does anyone else that uses Tapatalk have problems with how the new board software identifies new posts? The new posts feature shows a mixture of read, unread and new posts. The blue indicator that shows that a sub forum has unread/ new posts also no longer works.

  10. Honestly off I had nothing else that I wanted or needed to buy, I'd probably buy one for the sheer novelty of having a really cool tool that no one else on this side of the pond could get. I've always coveted the offset chuck drill from Festool.

  11. Is there a fix on the horizon for seeing pictures in tapatalk? The way it seems to be working is that if a picture was uploaded from inside of tapatalk, I can see it just fine from tapatalk. However, if the picture was loaded via the website, it won't load at all from inside the app. This appears to hold true for pictures that I upload myself as well as for those uploaded by others.

Any suggestions or is this an artifact of the upgrade and just how things work now?

I'm pretty sure you wouldn't be able to get the fine grained control of torque and RPMs simply by varying the power sent to the motor.

  13. Yeah it's always been like that, I just got used to it. If I really want to see pics, ill open up web view by tapping the menu button at top right corner and they always show up that way

Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk

I've actually never had any problems seeing pictures from tapatalk. Even now, about half of the picture posts show pictures with no problem.

  14. Part of the problem is that an armed society is NOT a polite society. There are just as many stressed out, mentally unstable people running around. I personally do not want to live where everyone is armed. Texas just passed a law making it legal for college students to carry guns in class. Do you know how many hormone raging ass clowns there are in a UT college class? Now picture one of them deciding to be a hero when they think that they need to save the day. How many innocents are going to get caught in the cross fire? What about having a heated debate about [insert any topic here] when a college kid decides he's had enough and decides to settle the argument once and for all, because he can't stand to have his beliefs criticized.

Remember, the Wild West was an armed society. Libya, Beiruit, Bosnia, Iraq... Take your pick of armed societies. I challenge you to find one that would be considered polite.

  15. Woo hoo. I can get my TIA fix again. I was starting to suffer withdrawal. It almost got bad enough to use the web version on my phone!

I hope you didn't have to pull out too much hair to get it working-class but the effort is appreciated.

  16. I'm seriously eyeballing the comfort grip cobras. I'd really love to get a set of pliers wrenches too, but those don't have the comfort grip and after using other Knipex tools with that grip, it's hard to go back to the dipped handles.

  17. The way the sale is working is that the Knipex sets are on sale for 25% off of their regular price.  The KNIPEX code only gives you free shipping, which isn't unusual, as they give you free shipping regularly on all Knipex orders.  Now, the 10% off with SAVE10 - I haven't seen that before.

MobileToolDistributors has a decent selection, but not nearly as good as ChadsToolBox or KC. Prices are good (for example, the 3 pc ergo grip cobra is $92 on MTD, 105 on Chads and 142(!) on KC.)
