  1. WTF? order cancelled?

We apologize for the delay with your order.  When your order was placed, we had this item in stock; MILN2667-21CT - NEW Milwaukee M18 Li-Ion 1/4" 2-Speed Right Angle Impact Driver Kit, however, when we went to fulfill and ship the order we no longer had this item available in our primary warehouse.  We have attempted to fulfill this order through the manufacturer.

Unfortunately, this item is also on backorder with the manufacturer.  Therefore, we do not have an estimated time of arrival for this item to be available in our warehouse.  We are issuing a refund to your payment method used with this order.  Please allow 3-5 business days for the credit to appear with your payment method used.

Again, we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

  2. I would agree but it's $139 for a brushless drill and circular saw and two batteries with those tools. That's actually the same price as the makita or dewalt magnesium circular saws and you get a drill too. Corded would be a good option otherwise but this is a very strange situation.

I believe that the Ridgid brushless drill / saw kit is $179 which is still a great price for what you're getting.

  3. I bought one but I'm just not at all sure that it's accurate. I've got two other temp guns, cheap $20 models that are pretty consistent. The Milwaukee one however routinely reads 8-10 degrees colder. When I'm trying to figure out the temperature in a kid's room, there's a hell of a difference between 65 and 56. There's allegedly a way to calibrate it, or at least see if it is reading the correct temperature with a bowl of ice water, but I haven't had a chance to do that yet.

  4. The 709 is designed as a budget level 12" SCMS.  It has a lower cross cut capacity(12x16 for the 780, 12x14 for the 709), lower crown capacity (7 1/2 vs 5 1/2), no XPS lighting, and is 16 lbs lighter (more aluminum / plastic in the construction).  The deck is smaller on the 709 as well.

I don't think that the 709 is a bad saw at all, but you have to remember what it's good at.  All 12" SCMS are not equal.  The lower priced models (i.e. the 709) are not going to be as good at cutting big stock as the higher end models.  If you can live with cutting 2x10s and 5 1/2" of crown clearance, the 709 looks to be a very nice saw, just don't expect it to beat out or really even have the same features / capacity as the 780.  I think a lot of the bad reviews are more related to unrealistic expectations than a bad product.

All that having been said, the 779 seems to be new - I've never seen that one before but the specs seem to make it look like the 780 without the XPS system.  I couldn't find any reviews so if that's important, you may want to hold off on that one.

  5. Old wood stoves are horribly inefficient. My old stove didn't hear for crap compared to the new one and it burned a ridiculous amount of wood. I hated having to feed that thing every two hours.

That having been said, outlawing existing stoves is idiotic. What they should do is mandate that all new stoves be high efficiency models. This is like if they said all of a sudden, you couldn't drive your old car anymore because it doesn't get good enough mileage.

  6. well if you decide to go with the Milwaukee line I think they is a member or 2 that can help you out with any questions, I'd have to look in the shop again but I'm pretty sure I have milwaukee lying around.....

O'rly?  I could have sworn that your tag was "Better dead than red"...

  7. None of these tool lights are a match for a good Nitecore at your side ;)

Nitecore's are great for looking for things in a dark corner or shining across the street, but they're just not built to stand in a corner and illuminate a dark bathroom when you've got the power off rewiring it.  Don't get me wrong, I love my P12, but it's best when I need to look at something and not so great when I need to see everything.

  8. Welcome to the forums!

Given the parameters you've stated, I would suggest Ridgid. The X5 lineup has very well reviewed hammer drills, impact drivers and circular saws. Not only that, but when you buy a kit, and register it of course, the LSA means that you'll never have to worry about batteries dying - free battery replacements for life. While the Ridgid lineup isn't as extensive as the other big names, they are expanding steadily of late. The fact that their tools are also a bit more affordable than some other brands doesn't hurt either.
