  1. It wouldn’t be in a shop environment. Would be inside a spacious factory and potentially inside new build homes. Dust collection being good is obviously better but not critical, the same can be said for the footprint of the saw. It would be stored in a medium sized van overnight so space may be a factor as well. THe FlexVolt saw’s price jumps by $450 this Sunday back up to $1600 so my time is running out to make a decision!! 😂😂
  2. Guys! Im currently heavily invested in the Makita lineup (20+ tools, 12+ batteries) and am looking to get a larger mitre saw, I already have the DLS714 2x18v single bevel Makita. The new Makita 2x18v front facing rail saw is selling for $1050 Aud (skin only with Bluetooth) and the Bluetooth Vac is $550 skin only. The FlexVolt 12” mitre is on special at the moment, $1150 for the saw, 2x2.0ah 54v batteries, fast charger, AC adaptor and a free stand + 1x54v 2.0ah battery via redemption. The capacities of both saws would be more than sufficient for what I’d be using them for. The dust extraction would be better with the Makita which is pretty important to me but not absolutely critical. I realise the FlexVolt is WAY better value but it means new batteries, new charger for only one tool but is it a good starting point to then be invested in FlexVolt equipment incase they bring out something revolutionary again? Or do you stay brand loyal? Thoughts and opinions welcome!
  3. Was browsing for Christmas gifts for UK family and spotted this deal! Wondered if anyone on here had seen slim looking 3.0’s these before?? https://www.screwfix.com/p/dewalt-dck2510l2t-gb-18v-3ah-li-ion-xr-brushless-cordless-combi-drill-impact-driver-twin-pack/2301v
  4. Added these two little beauts to the collection! The vacuum is outstanding, got a great little LED on the front! Haven't had a chance to use the track saw - paid $979 AUD for it - that includes 1400mm track, 2x5.0ah batteries and a double charger! Bargain! Actually sold my TSC55 this week knowing I could get the Makita!
  5. Spotted here in Aus https://www.bunnings.com.au/aeg-18v-brushless-75mm-belt-sander_p6230318
  6. Seen this.... hopefully will have enough power! Maybe a tad expensive? https://sydneytools.com.au/makita-pt354dz-12v-max-li-ion-cxt-cordless-23ga-pin-nailer

    New Sander

I can't help but think if these sanders were red/yellow/teal or anything apart from the green and black there would be an outcry!! having to buy new batteries and tools that won't accept old batteries is why people got upset over FlexVolt!! Oh but it's Festool so its ok....

    New Sander

So these batteries are unique to the sanders? Can't be used on other 18v tools and other 18v batteries can't be used on these sanders?
  9. Spotted this while browsing today! http://www.toolstop.co.uk/dewalt-dcg405p2-18v-cordless-xr-brushless-angle-grinder-125mm-2-x-5.0ah-batterie-p78753

    Track Saws

The TSC55 will collect around 90% just with the bag attached from my experience so it's decent in that regard. The new 18v x2 Makita has Bluetooth to connect to a Bluetooth vacuum so when the trigger is pulled on the Saw it switches on the vac (as far as I know). No need to plug the vac into the wall or the tool into the vac - perfection!
  11. Would love one as well, especially now after using the surge recently! It's tremendous! But with the DTS141 being a few years old and Makita STILL charging $579 Australian dollars for skin only im a little put off! I could buy a surge, charger and batter for that price!
  12. Did they have a fully functioning cordless Bluetooth vac? Do you know the model number? Was the 10" saw double bevel? Always 18v x2 or operate on 1 battery as well? How about the plunge saw? Always 2 batteries? Based on the SP6000J?
  13. Full-Size Brushless 7/4" Circular Saw spotted at Bunnings (Australia) today! Have a look at this! $279 (AUD) skin only is rather steep for Ryobi I reckon, the DHS680 is $296 skin only and the FlexVolt is $349. $199 for 2x5.0ah batteries and $100 for a charger you're getting close to $600 for a ryobi tool, I've seen the FlexVolt on special at that price here!
  14. Any rough release date? I'd be very keen on both! Excited to see the rail design on the 10" slider!
  15. Ah ok! Not even this year then! FlexVolt it is! Is any of the stuff you mentioned coming this year? you are a legend for letting us know!!
  16. I thought I had just made my up my mind on the 12" FlexVolt - apparently not! Do you have any kind of date for this?!
  17. Well guys, thanks heaps for the response! I think my mind is made up after reading all of your comments and watching everything I can on YouTube! Now to wait for the bloomin' thing to be available here in Aus!
  18. Guys! I'm looking at a larger SCMS to compliment my little 7 1/2" Makita 2x18V! Here in Australia the Kapex commands a $1975 price tag or $2795 if you include the stand - the DHS780 (when it releases later this month) will be $1650 and that includes the corded adaptor, 2 54v 2.0ah batteries and a charger. Which would you reckon would be the best investment? I am a carpenter + joiner by trade, have recently started working doing cabinet making in a factory and do bits + pieces at weekends when I can (decking/fences) and am Potentially looking to start custom furniture if I can ( as a hobby at first and see where it goes). To me the kapex is the king of mitre saws BUT the design is a little old and so is the motor, blades are expensive and the warranty isn't that long here. The FlexVolt stuff has had mixed reviews in general but the 12" mitre seems to be excellent? Downsides are that it is pretty heavy for transportations sake and the dust collection looks pretty poor! I'd love to get myself the Rotex 150, CT26 extractor, Domino XL and potentially the HKC55 but to add that all up on top of a Kapex would be around $9k AUD! Would love some input!
  19. Another top review guys! Love your work! They gonna be sending more stuff your way? (12" mitre?!)
  20. Here are a couple of posts front Scott over at Total Tools South Melbourne here in Australia! (follow him if you have instagram!!) this stuff looks great, especially the laser!
  21. Keen to see the video and how it goes! Looks like a decent unit and good value! Running on one battery or 2 is good! Im sure it has an LED Light for a sight line indicator, from having a look at my local Bunnings I'm sure it's just a button on the top or on the side? It's listed on the Bunnings website as having one.
  22. In action!! https://instagram.com/p/BSky8zGj5yV/
  23. Old topic but a little update! 20 skins and 13 batteries, also just pre-ordered my little 18v Brushless router/trimmer!
  24. No batteries or charger in the kit! It's the bare tool plus the tilt base and plunge base! http://www.totaltools.com.au/makita-18v-brushless-laminate-trimmer-attachments/i1573531/#.WOWrgjwmKEc
