Superfeet. I actually don’t like insoles that are too soft and cushy

SF are great, I've used them in hockey skates, that's the first time I really bought aftermarket insoles. You can also remove the plastic heel lift if the arch support is too much for you.

Much like hockey skates, soft isn't always beneficial. Stiff but perfectly supportive is much more comfortable. Constant flexing your feet is strenuous on your feet muscles, which causes them to swell and causes pain. Two ways to get around it, build the muscle in your feet by using flexible shoes in workouts or something stiff that puts the strain on your stronger cal muscles.

The other cause of pain is compression. Too skinny of a shoe, too large or misplaced arch support, or a shoe that lacks proper depth (If your tongue budges out from the cut of the boot, laces should be straight across).

  2. Occasional use, the external tooth ones like Neiko will get the job done. Sunex also has a pretty good set, Titan also seems to rebrand that ratchet too. https://www.amazon.com/Titan-Tools-11212-10-Piece-Driver/dp/B00SQ4FN1I/

The Felo is the best bit ratchet on the market, IMO. It's right in line with every top ratchet brand like Snap On. The Wiha, for example, is not nearly as nice. I haven't used the Wera.

Gearwrench also has a small set with a bit ratchet as does Kobalt(not really helpful for you).

  3. I would say that it's probably a pretty good buy. It's old and will probably need to be lubed but it should get the job done well for $60. It's probably a late 90s early 00s model. I'm a little hesitant on the table design and it's missing the splitter and guard (like most used ones will from that era).

I'm not a fan on that switch, I would definitely change that to a bump style (where you can bump it off quickly with your hip or hand). The guard isn't a big deal but the splitter is really nice to have. The fence is decent for that era, a lot of those didn't have a lip that overhung on the backside, they simply attached with the screw on the front...not exactly the best way to make sure the fence is straight.

  4. I'm with Chris, Rikon then Grizzly/Wen...and I'd definitely consider going larger if it's possible. I thought my little bandsaw would be enough but when you start using it and finding out how awesome it is to be able to resaw...you'll eventually want one that's larger. Right now I'm stuck with my little one and when I finally get my bigger one I'll be stuck with a little paper weight that has little resell value.

Also, get new blades, low tooth count and as wide as the machine allows for resaw. If you're going to be cutting figures, high tooth like 14 TPI and 1/4" is good, they offer 1/8" but that just seems soo likely to break with hardwood...actually, that seems like a decent idea, maybe the little one can be my scroll saw bandsaw...blades are a pain in the butt to change but you'll be glad you did.

  5. I literally look at the Bosch one every time I go into Lowe's. I am trying hard to not get into another brand but it's soo nice.

Right now I have Milwaukee m18/m12, Ego and B&D(just a string trimmer that won't die). I'm thinking really hard about Ryobi with their underwater vacuum so getting into Bosch is a terrible idea...terrible idea, stop thinking about it damnit!

Ha! How nice could it be? It’s Milwaukee 💩

I have no idea why they haven’t sent this over here and like the Bosch it’s got the offset chuck which Festool STILL doesn’t have on it’s compact drill!

You should buy it! I'd love to get a discounted price in the for sale section in a few weeks :P

WD-40 makes a rust removal soak that might be a good option. It has the benefit of being reusable according to its packaging. Vinegar will be cheaper but if you need something in between vinegar and Zep it might be worth a try.

I’m going to pick up a bottle to clean up my planes with since vinegar can take a fair amount of time. I’m the type to get sidetracked and forget to remove it after a few hours.

I've gotten great results with Evapo-Rust

@BMack37 some ShopVac items are better than others. The yellow ones are supposedly their more pro oriented vacs. The red ones are supposedly their homeowner vacs. I have a ShopVac yellow vac. It does the job but nothing special. At work we have a handful of Craftsman vacs, one Ridgid, and one ShopVac. The Ridgid and ShopVac feel the most powerful.

The biggest thing I don't like is that the sides aren't flat so it makes it difficult to dump. I have one of the red and black 16 gallon 6.5hp units, it's pretty quiet but the hose retaining isn't great, almost lost one clip already. It's not as nice as the Ridgids are for the same price point.

For $26 I'll live with it, the accessories are worth that...but $100, I'd go with Ridgid, no question.

  9. I forgot that Ryobi's 40V battery looked like that, maybe it's TTI made...Craftsman has had a relationship with them in the past, I think the power tools were AEG rebrands(so Ridgid). It's not unheard of for competing companies to build products for another, Samsung and Apple come to mind as a good example...Apple even regularly sues Samsung frivolously

  10. I'm hearing about a lot of people that are tired of the yearly price increase, it's definitely hurting sales...I wouldn't be surprised if these "Hurry and buy before the price increase" isn't working well this year. It's rare I see anyone post a Festool product on instagram and don't see multiple people bashing the price increases. I've seen several Festool users as about alternatives. Some of the pros don't seem to care but they're the minority...even Snap On doesn't pull this.

  11. They need long term planning, they virtually have none. They change hand tools out and in with little reasoning. Good luck keeping up on ratchets, there's not even a common lever direction among them, some are left to tighten, some are right.

They killed off Blue Hawk in a lot of categories to bring in Stanley which presumably will get replaced by Craftsman. They clearanced all their blow molded made in Taiwan socket sets to bring in made in China sets that look the same...now they're already clearancing some of those sets. No consistency and poor selection for tool boxes, virtually a revolving door and no consistency from store to store. Shop Vac instead of Ridgid vacuums, I just got a deal on a Shop Vac...it's no where near the quality of Ridgid but it costs more.

Lowe's also doesn't really push Kobalt in power tools, they're starting to with some stores getting a full aisle...but Dewalt gets an aisle and end caps. Previously Kobalt had the same designated area as Hitachi. Ryobi and Ridgid get the same amount of space as Dewalt and Milwaukee in the aisles, though Dewalt and Milwaukee also get runway and end caps all the time. Lowe's has no demo stations either.

I don't know about how well they're doing in what appears to be their main focuses; closet organization/fans and lights.

They have a lot of issues, I could go on for a long while.

  12. I finally saw the gen II stuff in-store...they are a lot nicer feeling than the gen I. They're closer to the size of the brushed drill but with the bigger motor being soo far back it feels more balanced. It's still ugly but luckily you don't have to look at it when you're using it

  13. I think Kobalt currently has the best ratchets in that category, the mini heads that just came out are damn nice...and I like Apex (Husky).

I recall reading that there is some planning for the same Craftsman warranty as before, that seems like its going to be difficult to have the inventory...(Following is all speculation) We could see them pull back the Kobalt single sockets over time as the Taiwan made singles dry up. Or maybe they'll not sell single Craftsman sockets but have sockets available to be pulled from top stock. I also don't imagine rebuild kits will ever come back, they'll probably RTV then rebuild them at the factory.

I wonder if HD will make it a wider program to accept Craftsman as trade on Husky. This could start a pretty beneficial war between HD and Lowe's, right now it's not really a big competition, two house brands with similar inventory (Though Kobalt has a wider variety of sets and ratchet variations)...but add Craftsman, HD might need to step it up. Maybe they bring Gearwrench in-store instead of just online. Maybe prices come down at both stores. One can hope!

Ok crew it’s been a minute but I finally picked this bad boy up! I had a snap on box similar a few years back that I bought for around $600 used but sold it for the same Thank god now I have my 52 inch husky and this guy to roll around with me, I like it it feels really sturdy and the drawers open and close pretty smooth oh and the casters are pretty heavy duty. We will see how it holds up

It's such a nice cart, (I've said it before) I'd trade my Matco for one of those US General carts and the Matco I have is a $400 cart. I'd really like to pick up their larger box too.
