  1. I say this as an owner of DeWalts. All the independent locally owned industrial supply places around me flat out refuse to carry DeWalts due to the shitty warranty system and customer service. I asked them why and they said that all the major plants won't touch a DeWalt because of their problems. I'm talking like some major manufacturers like BMW. I've also had bad luck trying to get parts. Makes me regret getting into the yellow line but I'm already too invested in the batteries at this point to change.

  2. So I had my head up my ass today and ignored some basic safety and situational awareness rules when it comes to sparks. I was cutting some 1/2" by 3" bar stock in the field with a skinny wheel on an angle grinder and started to feel nice and warm all the sudden. Looked down and it took me a while to process that the sparks had caught my pants on fire. Luckily I caught it before it grew to anything bigger than a match sized Flame. Got some weird looks patting this one out. Learn from my eff-up and keep yourself out of the spark trail.

  3. I'm always scared to really pull on my 3/8 because it feels like something will break. My coworkers will lean their whole weight into pulling their 3/8 and they have no problems. The ratchet just feels deceptively weak. Get the 3/8. Don't know how it will compete with a pneumatic.

  4. Stercorarius - can you confirm if the Pittsburgh are regular wobble, not wobble plus?

    Mondo1310, Jimbos1ice - I think the Tekton's are wobble plus.

unclebud - I think the Craftsman's are wobble plus too?

They may be wobble plus. If they are it isn't that noticeable. You can snap them in but just the slightest touch to either side immediately snaps it all wobbly and shit.
  5. Actually jokes aside, I'm sure they did this to keep debris out of the walkway as it progressively worsened till insurance cleared a contractor to do a repair. Car probably hit it.

I'm inclined to agree. Clearly the brick is not structural. You can see the steel post that is actually bearing the load behind the brick.

Present from Amazon, a tripod, a Milwaukee tool bag, might have to out the TIA patch on that as well, and a 1/2" square to 1/4" hex adapter

Get ready to start stripping shit and shearing bits with that adaptor. That beast will do it in a heartbeat.
  7. I heard from a guy who knows a guy that high torque impact wrenches are already developed with one key that you can dial the torque into a specific number from your phone. I don't remember release date specifics but it will be some time in early 2016.

  8. Here is my M12 list so far:

1: Fuel sds rotary hammer drill

2: Fuel 1/2" impact wrench (eu only at the moment)

I sure hope that was a typo because if there is a 1/2" MOTHER#$%#&$#IN' M12 IMPACT WRENCH THAT WE DONT HAVE IN THE $#@$$IN' UNITED STATES OF MOTHER$&%#%ING AMERICA IM GOING TO MARCH UP TO THE MILWAUKEE HEADQUARTERS AND MY FOOTS GOING SO FAR UP THE GUY IN CHARGE'S @$%#@ @%#$ THAT IM GOING TO BE PICKING TEETH OUT OF MY #$$@#% FOOT FOR THE NEXT SEVERAL WEEKS[emoji35] [emoji35] [emoji35] [emoji35] [emoji35]

  9. You say those Pittsburg ratchets are strong?

Hey jimbo, how about you stick your new impact wrench on a cheap pittsburg ratchet with a square-square adapter so we can see how strong they really are.

If I recall correctly from prior sciencing you just can slip a 9/16 12 point socket onto a half inch square.
  10. So my buying list is

    1. 3/8 fuel impact wrench

    2. Right angle impact $100HD

    3. Right angle drill( combo deal with wrench $200 HD)

    4. Vacuum $60

Stuff that I'd buy but can't get myself to:

    1. Stick light. At $80 bare tool it is twenty more than my 20v DeWalt stick.

    2. Spot light: $70 bare tool it is more reasonable but still $10 more than the lantern.

    2. Fuel impact driver, screw driver and hammer drill. Already have the full sized dewaults and m12 3/8 drill/driver.
