  1. I go through a lot of bits and tried pretty much everything the box stores have to offer, I haven't settled on any particular brand(Zephyr if I could afford them, find em local or wait for an order lol), but I'm really liking the new(er)Bosch Impact bits...

Lotta guys like the Makita Gold..... meh their fine if you like bits that are just OK.

Drill bits on the other hand I could care less, I hardly use my drill(s), so I just get whatever is cheap at the closest store when I do need some, I probably have Ryobi or Vermont American or a mix of randomness, for concret I just use whatever is included in the Tapcon package.

I wanted to install some skylights but they were turning out to be very expensive if bought pre-made and I didn't have guys with enough expertise that would make it on the spot.

Also heard about leaking issues and the general inexperience of workers in India in installing skylights made it even more difficult for me go ahead with installing them.

So I had to find an alternate. The roof is made of metal sheets. I found a manufacturer who was willing to build me transparent polycarbonate sheets with the same profile as those of my metal sheets. That meant I could install them without any chances of leakage. Cost was also very cheap at just $2 per sq ft. So ordered them and installed them today.

This is going to be either a small home gym or a home office. These are two 10 ft sheets running through the length of the roof of this room in the centre.

This is one of the bedrooms -

And this is how it looks from the outside -

As you can see they have the same profile as the metal sheets so there won't be any chance of leakage. The polycarbonate sheets are treated with UV protection and come with a 10 year guarantee.

After the installation of the vaulted false ceiling it will look just like a skylight. Will post pics when that work is finished.

    Looks great!

Seeing as a 20v Max model would be weaker than the DCS575 and Makita rear handle, what fanfare would there be in releasing that? It's great for the guys who want one but there would be 0 bragging rights, and company marketing departments are all about that.

Yep, the only possible way to make it would be dual 20v and any hope some might have had for 2x 20's went out the window with FV.

Personally a left blade FV saw would be a very welcome addition to my tools.

The Hitachi 12" slider is such a good saw especially for the price. I ended up selling mine for the Bosch glide saw. I wouldn't say I moved up but went sideways with it. I love my Bosch and I got it for a great price but the Hitachi is severely underrated.

Agreed,  Hitachi miters are fantastic.  As for the money, heck even for 2x the cost your hard pressed to find one better.

Well, I had my first chance to use these today.  Did a brake job on my wife's car; the front brake caliper brackets have a stupid clearance problem on one of the bolts.  You can crack it loose with a socket, but you can't back it all the way out with one.  Box end ratchet to the rescue.

Darn if these wrenches aren't unexpectedly nice.  I don't WANT them to be good.  I want cheap Chinese tools from Harbor Freight to suck.  But they don't.  The ratchet action is smooth and tight, and they're well balanced.  I was glad to have them when I needed them.

The absolute worst tools are the ones you don't have when you need em regardless of the COA or the notion of quality. In this case it sounds like a great tool for the job!

That multi tool is a fucking piece of shit. The vibration is sickening, has no power and is a toy. Anyone who "loves" it has never used a professional grade multitool..the blade selection sucks, no thanks. Get yourself a Bosch or fein. Sorry for the rant.

I love mine, I have used MANY different ones including Bosch, yep still love my DeWalt.  I am a person that makes money using my tools so i guess that makes me a professional and its a professional tool.

Vibration? not any worse than others, use a larger battery, smooths it out noticeably.

No power? Make sure you have a charged battery on it, that solves the no power problem.

Toy? I suppose it sorta looks like a armless action figure when its standing upright.

Blade selection sucks?  Um I haven't found a blade I couldn't put on it(there is an adaptor and admittedly I've never tried to use a starlock on it)

Ok maybe I'm naive or a snob but to me the flat out best ratcheting screwdriver is the Snap On, 20 years ago I used one and spent 10 years finding one to live up to it only to decide to get my own.  I've never tried a Wera but I'm very curious if it's similar or better.  If nothing else... That's a damn good looking driver!
