Grinder can cause rust on panel edge.

If you're doing mostly straight cuts, get a shear cutter.

This is correct, and the roof manufactures agree and may choose to not warranty the roof if cut with a grinder or saw, read the fine print.  Manufactures recommend using their color matched paint on all cut edges to reduce the risk of rust.  That said I've done a few metal roofs recently and these are the cutting tools I used:

image.jpeg.5db7a3cac4855228e8f20db1f1749e47.jpeg needed something like 85 charged 4.0 batteries per cut lol

If 1825 in-lbs isn’t enough then you should buy the impact wrench. Down tuning the drill is for people looking to fine tune their setting for the application it is being used for. Overclocking the drill is only going to shorten the life of the drill.

LOLOLOLOLOLOL,  Sir my Impact driver is NOT a Drill and takes offence for you calling it one..... The 887 has 3 modes and a trigger... I got fine tune covered!

  3. Saw them all at Lowe's today.... Spitting image of their sister's... Other than the battery slot being "squaredish" on the sides instead of the rounded angle like DeWalt's.... And yes the Hitachi framer was on display too..... Pretty sweet looking nailer.

I seen the new bostich cordless trim and framing nailers at lowes today. Obviously bostich are made by Dewalt.

Does anyone know if the Dewalt batteries can be used in these nailers?

Lowe's has a $100 off promo of you trade in any air nailer. So you can get a trim nailer for $200.

Stuart did a preview of them

While virtually identical to dewalt the batteries are said to be incompatible, probably minor plastic trimming could allow fitment, but who knows at this point.

It’s a good thing I went to Lowe’s this morning and didn’t wait for the order ready email. They couldn’t find them, they were literally in the same spot they have been in for at least 6 months down the back of “Tool World”. Walked the associate to them in less than a minute. They were in the exact bay listed on the paperwork yet two employees were not able to find them.

I also found this oddity, a Dewalt cooler with an impact, drill, charger, and 2 x 1.5Ah batteries for $329. So everyone throw away your boxes, coolers are the new tool storage solution!

They also had the Power Station bare tool for $100 more than anywhere else. Had it been the kit for $399 it would have been in my cart but not paying more for a bare tool.

Saw those cooler kits at my Lowes yesterday too.... not going to get one but interested in seeing what they go for around BF.

Hopefully @Cr8ondt is right then and we get 4.0 batteries, but then we would also get 8.0 full size? I doubt they'd pull that because Milwaukee would use it to market that they have a 9.0 and DeWalt has an 8.0. So maybe 5.0 slim and 10.0? More likely DeWalt does something similar to this for all battery related decisions.

IF... IF 4.0 then 8.0 would be in the same form factor of the 6.0, ie 10 cell 20700 vs Milwaukee 15 cell 18650.... Marketing may get a one up but I see DeWalt with the real world advantage. Don't get me wrong I'd rather have it be 5/10.0.... imagine a 5.0 slim pack!!!!!

Also this. That's the worst charger they offer. The fast yellow charger is worth getting. At the very least the "fast" black charger.

That is a "fast" black charger the other's are the 101and the double, the 107 is the slow one.

I would have expected a masonry saw to have a water system to cool the blade off. Maybe it could suppress the dust too?

It does. Rented a Husqvarna gas monster with water hook up to cut out for a basement egress window and not a bit of noticeable dust.

I got two....I think it works great., but I use it to cut bolts, threaded rod , nails...grind some steel I beams....I’m not a Everyday grinder guy though.....so don’t really know..but I do hear the flex grinder is king....AVE bought it,tore it apart and absolutely Loves it...that’s rare.....

True, I think I've only seen 3 other power tools AvE seemed to gush over, Makita corded grinder, Hilti drill, and a pre chinese owned Milwaukee 14.4v drill.  Probably a couple others but those seemed to be 4 stand-outs.

@regopit could the homeowner get in trouble for that?

Technically... Yes, though shouldn't ever happen, but I have heard a story about 6 hours after a hurricane that code compliance was issuing tickets... So when government gets involved anything can and probably will happen.
