  1. People that ask for help and dont like your answer. Or people that whistle at you like a dog to get your attention. I dont get why people whistle just walk up and ask for help.

Also people that watch you physically exert yourself then tell you youre doing it wrong and dont tell you why

15 days is less than the amount you have left to live with it sitting on your work bench while it taunts you and threatens to seriously hurt you. You keep the turd, toolbarn and Makita make money for nothing. You send it back, they still make money, and have a happy customer with positive word-of-mouth to spread. A properly working tool is worth the wait man. If you explain what a huge inconvenience it is for you they might even make it worth your while.

Yeah i like my hands ive really ignored safety for years and i consider myself lucky i still have everything. Ill talk to tool barn tommorow and see what they say.

Yes, that's definitely a bad grinder. Only time i've felt bad vibration is when I misjudge a cut and tear a chunk out one side of the wheel and that throws the balance off. Hope you can get this resolved easily, do you think you will go through Makita warranty, or return it?

I talked to makita and they want me to return it to toolbarn ugh

Last year I bought a dewalt radio and tried to return it about 60 days later at lowes. Dewalt says they give u 90 days but lowes wouldn't take it back. They said they'd only do 30 day returns. Now I have a shitty radio that gets no reception even tho I'm only like 30 minutes outside of Cleveland. How does that make sense

Yea as DR99 says they should have taken it back, the 90 days is from dewalt, you have to go through them to get that guarantee, you bring the tool to a service center and they mail you a check.

If you still have the M12 Fuel and it's in good condition I might be interested in a trade or something. I agree it's a little big but I want the weight savings because it goes in my carry bag.

Sorry i dont have it anymore i tried it out when it first came out then returned it and got a smaller kit

Nice, thanks for the pics Pancing! I just remembered that not only to I have a Milwaukee repair centre here, I've actually been to it... Should have thought of it early. They should have stock on this stuff and I can avoid paying exchange and duty from a US online vendor.

Plus, it's near the main Pelican showroom for Western Canada which I also need to swing by. Sounds like my next Saturday is planned lol.

I'm on a kubota for 5 hours on saturday, I'm jealous.

  8. I used to do warranty work for depot as the tool rental repair guy, you guys actually use warranties. People would just buy new tools and return the old ones after a month or so with the same story "Well yeah it stopped working" For a very long time we just had to take their word for it but in the long run HD started to stop doing that and started comparing the dates on the tools, if your tool was out of date, EVEN IF IT WAS CLEARANCED FROM 2012 AND YOU HAVE YOUR RECEIPT AND YOUR RECEIPT STATED THAT IT WAS BOUGHT 2 DAYS AGO   you would be denied a return. TBH its a pain in the ass but the whole reason why its so hard to deal with HD now is because dog shit people abused their return system. You used to be able to return as much crap as you wanted without a receipt but now theres a limit because of theft, now you can't even use store credit online because of people selling other people bogus merch cards, hell you cant even check your HD merch card balance online or on the phone you have to be physically in the store and show your DL in some stores to get your balance (or buy something). Lowe's is very lax with returns at the moment but since we sell a lot of the same shit that HD does they come to our store if HD denies their return and we take it back. It wont be long until lowes follows suit. When people start to hear about how dewalt does complimentary accessories I wonder how long before people start calling in to get free batteries and chargers (They seriously don't dig, they ask you whats wrong with it, apologize and send you a complimentary battery or charger, they also use a phone/address identity system so people could abuse that to get multiples, hell they didnt even ask me for the serial or DoM)

as someone that did warranty work and deals with shipping Return merchandise and handling problems with manufacturers and distributors hopefully people wont see this as a opportunity but more of an eye opener as to why big box stores are the way they are now.

sorry went on a rant there.

Another pawn shop. Remember when I told you deals were to be found in Tampa near the airport? Yup! Same place I bought the Fuel 1/2 Impact Wrench late last week. They have what I think is the 2897-22 kit, brand new for $230 but I really don't need the impact or two 5.0 batteries and I'm over budget because of the recent buys.

There are a couple of the One Key kits for $300 across the bridge, there was one a little further West than these were located too but it may have disappeared.

I'm also considering picking up a M12 Fuel drill kit marked at $99 but I can get it for $169 at HD with an extra 4.0 battery so it's basically the same price.

I had the m12 fuel drill but it may as well be a 18v its too damn big to be a 12v, I have an old set of micro hitachi's that do what I need to do, I've recently upgraded it to a metabo drill though.

  11.   Milwaukee 49-22-4146 Rip Fence Kit I think this one is for sidewinders.

    1469413008339-1365338873.jpg

I can get it to 4" before i cant screw in the fence bolt on the blade side

    14694130549901222966830.jpg

But on the motor side it gets to the full 6" and more, I might just have to drill a hole on the otherside and use a screw. I'm also going to have to use a paint stick to make the guide rail a bit longer.

Based on the new impact fight review by Oz Tool Talk, it's the worst performing impact out of the lot tested...by a huge margin. Perhaps they watched that and decided to clear inventory, lol.

Yeah i really just want the drill ive got 2 impacts that i rely on

Yes, sorry, must be some long days at work starting to make my brain foggy. A rip guide/rip fence I s what I'm talking about. Thanks for the input guys. I don't believe my Fuel came with one, unless in my excitement I threw it in the trash.

I emailed Milwaukee, they said the rip fence I need is 49-22-1001. Found it online for $12. Fingers crossed that they speak the truth.

I have that one for my 7 1/2, should have gotten the one for a worm drive :< ah well

    Hello everybody,

Well the title sums it up.

Let's say I'm in the market for a jobsite light, a radio and an impact driver.

Let's say I will go for a Makita impact driver, would that push me to take advantage of the batteries then buying a Makita radio and a Makita light since I'll be able to swap the batteries ? The same process would apply to any manufacturers.

I would like to avoid buying 3 tools and ending up with 3 new chargers emoji53.png but what are the odds ?

Shall I get a tool a really like in the first place or try to stick to ONE tool manufacturer ?

    I'm a bit puzzled. emoji43.png

Thanks for your help and input.

Price dictates what i buy. like I bought a Metabo grinder for 139.99 that came with a charger and 5.2 batts, might buy another a makita grinder for 125 that came with a batt and a charger. And a  back up metabo drill for 180, I already have milwaukee dewalt and hitachi it doesnt matter to me if the price is right. If i can get a kit from brand A for less than the price of a bare tool of brand B you bet your ass im going for brand A
