After Dan and Eric put the Makita up against the Milwaukee, is anyone surprised it was so close?
The Milwaukee did win and was faster, but the Makita didn't smoke this time lol ,and I thought did quite well considering its terrible performance last time out.

Hello and welcome

They will not build things to last because you would only buy one.
The same is true of everything these days, end of life is built into everything you buy.

I think you covered the bases there very well pal.
It may be as you say that the benefits of the red lithium become more noticeable when the tool is under load with more amps being available.

Having a case did not help today guys some ratbag stood on my Dewalt laser level and broke the glass while I nipped for some gear!!!!!!!!
And can't find a new glass for it either am bloody fuming.

Getting hold of some of the cool stuff you guys have is very very hard because either they don't sell them at all over here, or they cost twice as much by the time they are posted.
Be cheaper for me to hire a container and do a 3 year U.S shopping spree and then have that shipped.LOL

My fave is lead welding it is very rewarding but because of the nature of lead you need a touch like a midwife to get it right.
I know it is gas and not arc welding but lead work is a dying art and I love it.

6" cast iron no problem, cuts it like a hot knife through butter.
And set up time is virtually zero its plug in and play. Just plug it in clamp it on and cut the pipe in no time, they even supply rollers so the pipe will rotate as you make the cut included with the tool.

The metalwork they use is basically scaffolding and they are only clamps that hold it all together. So putting such a vast amount in the very very short time they have before a show,I am amazed there are not a lot more accidents.

Bosch laser looks cool, milwaukee new products look cool but I'm with you the 12v S.D.S is for light stuff.
My fave was the heated jacket and Dan wrecking the dummy LOL very funny and very cool.

Can't find anywhere that sells them over here.

Yes we have to have steel in the under sole to prevent injury from sharp items through the sole of the boot.
My job involves climbing kneeling up down all day and I have never found a boot that is comfortable and lasts but also meets the regulations.

duraspin DS22 AC has been a cracker and cost me peanuts.

Welcome to my world LOL
Shipping on anything from the U.S usually costs me more than what I buy.

Redwing average £250 a pair over here and not allowed on our building sites.
-
I prefer a collated gun for drywall/plasterboard fixing.

I still have an angled snap on ratchet screwdriver that has had me swinging on it like a gorilla (one for Dan and Eric lol) and it is till going strong.
The original from ages ago locked up and a snapon van was driving by and i flagged him down and he was so impressed I still had it he gave me a brand new one LOL was very cool.

O.K all you hard working get stuck in and dirty types, who really makes the best working boots?
Which company keeps your feet happy and safe on the job site?
-
I would love to review some of those Milwaukee self feed drill bits but can't get them over here.
And would like a hands on with the fuel range and the new Hilti drill driver and impact drivers.
-
Just an idea but it may be worth hiring a good welder to show you how to weld.
There are a lot of guys looking for a few extra quid at the moment and some just retired guys are sat there with a lifetime of knowledge going to waste.Maybe run an ad asking for a recently retired guy to learn from?

Incredibly handy tool for big cast iron pipe or iron or even plastic and very very easy to use right out oof the box.
I like things that do what it says on the tin,or in this case the box. LOL
