  1. I definitely notice a difference in performance between the 2ah battery and 4ah battery on my mostly brushless Craftsman tools.
  2. I have seen videos where people have jail broke the Android OS to run it like a regular tablet. Not sure how much mileage a person will get from it, but hey, why not?
  3. Yeah buddy……..Smart Fridges are becoming the rage. https://www.samsung.com/us/home-appliances/refrigerators/4-door-flex/28-cu-ft--4-door-flex-with-21-5-in-connected-touch-screen-family-hub-refrigerator-rf28n9780sg-aa/
  4. You could always buy it and paint it Yellow and Black, lol.
  5. I’m still fairly new to woodworking, and try to learn every day. What got me going was the gift of a Craftsman Job Site Saw for Father’s Day last year, some my excuse for never building things was not having the proper tools, lol. First off, This tool needed a proper outfeed table/ work bench to work off of. The bench in my garage was original to the house and was a stationary piece that was thrown together with scrap wood. In other words…..it had to go. So I figured a new bench that was mobile would do the trick. It did. Secondly, my wife used our Biden Bucks to buy a new TV. Only the entertainment center was too small, and she couldn’t find or was unwilling to buy what was at the local stores. Enter the new tools. I built something that fit our needs, basic to be sure, but the old lady loves it. Lastly, she wanted new End Tables to match the Entertainment Center. So I obliged. Again, nothing fancy, but she digs it. Since then, I’ve just been buying tools and setting up shop in the garage all while co letting “honey do” items in the house. Once wood comes back down in price, I’ll start with some new projects. Edit: Bonus 4th project. My daughter needed a new cabinet in her bathroom.
  6. So for the second year in a row Flex has put on a dog and pony show that features “Head to Head” competition against other tools. Only this time around, it wasn’t only Milwaukee they were beating up on. In what I’m sure were totally fair displays, Flex took on not only Milwaukee, but also DeWalt and Makita (Saw only). In fact they doubled up on DeWalt by going against both the DeWalt Power Stack and XR battery platforms. Now I won’t fault Flex for being over the top. After all they have a product line to sell. Damn though! It got to the point that it was Ron Popiel/Billie Mays levels of salesmanship, but just short of the Slap Chop guy. I’ll reserve my judgement until the numerous Tooltubers I watch start doing unbiased testing of these new offerings. Anywho….here are some pics of the new battery specs. There were some new tools, storage, and accessory options, but they were nothing to write home about. Nor the kind of things specialty trades would be seeking.
  7. Please excuse if I necro some old threads, lol. I literally have no other forum to talk about tools on.
  8. A thread right up my alley……… I love guns and shooting. My EDC is a Glock 26 which I had customized. I also built a Poverty Pony AR, lol. Only issue is I live in a blue state that’s constantly oppressing my 2A rights. My wife’s EDC is a G42. I’m more into buying power tools until the latest round of gun legislation gets resolved, but I’m looking forward to buying a G43x MOS and retiring the 26. Might look into getting an AR9 at some point if they are still legal here, or wherever I move to after retirement.
  9. 3/4 to 1/2 inch Chuck? That’s a big boi.
  10. Unfortunately, I think you are out of luck on this. Despite them comparing the drill to a DeWalt. They definitely do not use the same brushes. Might just need to buy another drill or wait on a Hercules Brushless Drill to come out.
  11. But Festool is the only brand making the Domino Tenon machine……….at least until 2024.
  12. Well I’m just a hobbyist woodworker, but I started off with Porter Cable before SBD eventually killed them off. Since Lowes is my go to store, I switched to Craftsman, because the free 4ah battery kits made it easy to build a collection. And most tools are clones of other brands. I find the Brushless stuff is from DeWalt and the Brushed items Porter Cable. Craftsman Impact Driver - CMCF820 - a DeWalt 998 clone. Hammer Drill - CMCD721 - a DeWalt 796 clone. SDS Rotary Hammer - CMCH233 - a DeWalt DCH133 clone. 1/2in. Impact Wrench - CMCF920 - a DeWalt DCF894 clone. Angle Grinder - CMCG450 - a DeWalt DCG413 clone. Osc. Multi Tool - CMCE500 - a Porter Cable PCC710 clone. (Brushed Motor) Recip. Saw - CMCS300 - a Porter Cable PCC670 clone. (Brushed Motor). Chain Saw - CMCCS610 - Not sure who OEM’s this. Table Saw - CMXETAX69434502 Orbital Sander - CMEW231 - DeWalt clone. SKIL Router - RT1322-00 Kobalt Sliding Miter Saw - SM2517LW Circular Saw - K15CS-06AC Festool Track Saw - TS55 Dremel Rotary Tool - 9000 - with plunge base and flex shaft.
  13. In the past couple weeks I picked up a brushless Angle Grinder and SDS Rotary Hammer by Craftsman that were clearance priced to my tastes. So my Craftsman collection is pretty much complete for my needs. Only thing I “could” do is replace the two brushed tools I own with brushless models (OSM and Recip).
  14. Looks like two different pictures of a custom built Angle Grinder converted into a Biscuit Joiner. I’ll bet the flood gates open up once the Festool Domino patent expires in a few years.
  15. I can agree that Ryobi isn’t considered a Pro brand, but there are Pros stateside that do employ some of their tools on the job. And they do have an extensive line of tools. They are slowly improving their status as a great tool company.
  16. Flex is still too new for me. Speaking of Lowes, they really worked themselves into an identity pickle that dilutes their offerings. On the one hand they could be a total Chervon house, but SBD has leveraged them into committing significant shelf space to Craftsman. At the very least they should consolidate and drop Bosch and Metabo HPT. Maybe even drop Skil since it overlaps with Kobalt.
  17. Not only just the economics, but the brands you named have also increased in their quality as the technology gap closes between brands.
  18. Hey, all. I like power tools and talking about them.
