That kit came with 2.0 batteries..........so if he gave you 1.5's he was giving you his old batteries from another kit. Not a big deal, just saying.

Ridgid rolled out their new batteries as well. We've got the 4.0 hours and the 2.0 are supposed to be here monday.

Just got the Drill/Driver today and it looks awesome. I am giving it to my parents who seem to always want to use my M12 stuff. It is a drastic upgrade over their 10 year old 18v Black and Decker and their Dewalt 9.6v that is so old that the drill itself is green. Thanks again tools in action, drill is sweet, my dad gets a new drill upgrade, my tools will be left alone, and I get a free lunch.

I know I am a Hope Depot guy, but man is that an ugly color scheme..................................yuck. It looks good on nailers and compressors, but putting on battery powered tools is just plain old ugly. Just for reference, I think the new Milwaukee Tape measures are also ugly.

Just some links for you to look at and compare prices. Most retailers will start having specials around late October to start holiday sales. This are all Lithium Ion-Tools, maybe your something your son knows is better than NiCAD or maybe not. If you get him a Lithium he will thank you in the future!

Makita most likely will not warranty it, you have no proof of purchase(aka when it was originally bought) Your best bet would be as conductor mentioned go with a brand like Ridgid(lifetime warranty) Ryobi, Porter Cable, Kobalt, or Craftsman. If you spend $80 plus on a battery for a tool that is old, with any of these brands excluding ridgid(cheapest Ridgid kit at the moment is $159) you can pick up a drill/driver kit for around $99 to $130 dollars that will have two batteries and the charger. Any of those above mentioned brands will perform awesomely for any DIY and should be an awesome gift for your son. Again if you are even considering buying a new battery, consider spending the extra $20-$30 on a new kit.

I really hope Bostich is not going to be exclusive to Home Depot. They already have that exclusive with Milwaukee. So unfair.
Bostitch would be exclusive to Lowes if it will be exclusive to anyone.

Really sorry!!!! I didn't even notice this thread and I have been watching all the videos. It all has magically past me. I pm'd conductor562 and am really happy and grateful that I won. Hopefully its not to late to claim my prize;/. But really thanks Tools in action!!! and I just hope I am not to late.
PS: Which video is it in? The only ones I will admit to not watching are the Pressure Washers ones, just not my cup of tea:D

I was using my M12 Impact to drive 4 in. GRK RSS Screws after about the third one, i must have hit a knot or something and it kicked in. Probably not the right tool for the job, but all I have is M12 stuff so it needed to be done!

Agree with Conductor, you just need to switch out the collet nut.
While this is not the version you have, the steps are going to be basically the same and this is just a visual of what conductor posted.

It looks like this store decided to have a wall of "endcaps" instead of all individual ones that run along the front of the department like most other stores. It does look kind of weird.

That is low, underhanded, conniving, cheap. That is why we can't buy Milwaukee anywhere else locally except Home Depot. Isn't that illegal? Is Home Depot paying them to not sell anywhere else. I guess that's why people are calling them the Orange Borg.
In grand rapids alone there are 6 different stores that carry a full lineup of Milwaukee tools, something home depot will never carry in the stores.

Milwaukee did not change their SKU at HD, it is the same as the 1.5 and 3.0. This true for both the M12 and 18. I just got the M18 Fuel Hammer and Impact combo with 4.0 batteries....................$399.00

I was wondering Joe M if your store has started to stock M12 Fuel tools yet the store by me has sold all the old m12 kits and is now trying to get rid of the bare tools. The whole M12 display looked horrible though is their different reps for Ryobi verses Milwaukee tools? The Ryobi display is always looking nice and maintained.

NO I HAVE NOT gotten the M12 Fuels. This is a very sore subject for me as I probably follow the tool industry more than anyone in my district in terms of Hardware Supervisors, and I was excited about possibly getting them. However my store was outside of the top 1000 selling Milwaukee stores, so I did not get M12 Fuel tools. Only 3 stores in my district got them and for most it was just the impact driver. But I have had a lot of stuff go to clearance, which makes me think there will be a new product push to all stores with the Fuel line in both M18 and M12.
I teach my TTI(Milwaukee, Ridgid, and Ryobi) rep about new products. Sadly, they decide that is better to hire good looking females than it is to hire someone who can be a valuable source of information. Contrastingly I used to have a DeWalt rep who taught me a lot and had a Makita rep who was awesome at keeping me informed. Finally DR99, the Ryobi and Milwaukee Endcaps are "maintained" and "set" by TTI. The M12 endcap is one that I have switched around to make it look better, because when TTI does it looks very empty and not attractive at all.

I also have bags. I have a 18'' Husky Tool bag with tool wall, a pair of Milwaukee Contractor bags, and the smaller Milwaukee contractor bag that came with my m12 hackzall that I use for my power-tool accessories.

I get it on high dollar items, but sometimes they are just being stupid trying to flag someone from another department too look it over. The Home Depot is the worst for me they are either checking every single item number and comparing or they take it no problem it all depends on who's working at that time.
As the supervisor of Tools and Hardware.........I have had a drill that was returned with bricks inside of it, multiple very old/heavily used tools returned in new boxes, and someone who filled a Milwaukee Fuel hardcase with SAND.....YES I SAID SAND!

I dont think the Milwaukee one is rated for impacts either....
Yeah I looked up the Milwaukee version that is around $20 bucks. Not rated for applications where the drill goes over 400 rpm.

Had an amazon gift card burning a hole in my pocket. The Milwaukee version is not as compact and is really overpriced on amazon.
