  1. Is there currently a corporate wide initiative to revamp the tool section? The ones near me appear to be gearing up to start offering single sockets and such, where before it was pretty much sets only.

Yes! My District(West Michigan) has already transitioned into offering Singles and a larger assortment. The only thing that we don't carry is Individual Deep-Well sockets.

  2. Ok, I will come out of the closet.......I run a Hardware Department for Home Depot in Michigan. I think that we caught on that selling this $89.00 dollars in a REALLY GOOD DEAL! They are fazing this out and just are going to sell the table, which is around $99.00 dollars and the router itself which is $59.00 dollars. Any time it says "Out of Stock Online" is a sign that the item is going away. Some HD's may have them on the self if they are left over and others(like mine) sold out the stock we had months ago.

  3. I have an extra Milwaukee m12 Hammer Drill and Impact combo bag that my buddy gave to me.......and I realized after I got it that I don't even like putting my stuff in mine. I have the Hammer Drill, Impact, Hackzall, Multi-tool, flashlight, and four batteries in one bag. Should I invest in a tough box? I guess I would rather spend the money on the Bosch per I am not the biggest fan of Dewalt. I am getting the consensus that the Bosch boxes are pretty nice?

  4. They may have stop selling that combo at HDs........lets just say I know somebody. It might be one of those things that you have to search for at a couple of HDs to find one in stock.

  5. Not to bring negativity to this topic, but when I was really bored one day I stumbled upon a vodcast(a podcast that is video taped) with two guys talking about the differences between an Impact driver and a Drill/driver. Was the most difficult thing I ever listened to in my life! But i personally listen to sports podcasts, but if there are any good tools ones I would love to know where to find them.

  6. I have two "Red Lithium" batteries that are solid as a rock, they are the older style. However, my Red Lithium that is newer(changed the styling on the back) and the 2.0 battery I got for free don't feel as solid and one is already wobbly as hell. Must have changed factories in China.

  7. Scratch together $99 bucks, go to Home Depot buy the M12 Screwdriver. You will get two batteries in the kit and a free 2.0 ah battery. 3 batteries for under $100 bucks. I'm talking about the old M12, not the one they just did the review on. I saw in another post how you kind of wanted more batteries than two. But to be honest, one of my batteries did the same thing. The one I got with my hackzall was kind of loose, I am OCD and it really bothers me. I'm gonna just live with it, but you are not alone in that problem. The worst part is that I've only had that battery for over a month.

  8. The signage that you would see in the store does not really do the offer justice. Essentially any kit that you see that has a battery in it(not bare tools) is part of the offer. Picked up a 12v Hackzall and got the free battery. Sadly for me, I bought my M12 Hammer/Drill and Impact kit with a free Mulit-tool back in February($159). But 4 batteries is more than enough for a DYI'r like me.
