  1. I bought this tool a while ago, tool only without the dust collector and it works great. I drill a lot of 1/2" holes and I have another contractor that has the dewalt 20v version and my Makita is way better. I would say its comparable to my corded version of the same Makita drill, but at times the gap varies, but I still love the tool.
  2. If you have all of the batteries already which is most of who is going to buy the saw, then the tool only price is almost the same as the M18 fuel saw in tool only and as other reviewers have stated the savings combined with the blade options in 7.25" makes the Makita saw better in the long run. http://toolguyd.com/makita-18v-x2-circular-saw-xsh01z/ review that compares the two http://www.coptool.com/milwaukee-m18-fuel-vs-makita-18vx2-cordless-circular-saw-showdown/ another review comparing the two I really want this new Makita saw but I already have the fuel circ saw and really like it and I have an older Makita lxt 18v circ saw.
  3. How do we find out when this comes to the US or where can we order it across the water and pay more in shipping?
  4. I have both the Dewalt and Milwaukee heated jacket and I am pretty sure you can cross the two and if I remember Eric and Dan showed this on a video but I have yet to see the long term effects. The one thing I don't like is the dewalt battery holder is much larger than the m12 battery holder and I catch the dewalt one on everything because it sticks out so far. I also assume that the voltage coming out going to the coat is 5v like the usb port.
  5. I am pretty sure I saw the $100 Milwaukee trade in deal at a local contractor supply store a couple weeks ago, it seems they have it every year in March. I also got a bunch of dewalt 20v stuff last winter have moved more toward the fuel line now so I sold the dewalt stuff.
  6. I am not surprised at this result, I have 2 of the fuel impacts and Dewalt's brushless 3 speed impact and Makita's new brushless 3 speed impact (and the downshift model also) and I would agree that with #10x3.5" deck screws that we use the Milwaukee is only marginally faster, but for lag bolts or large self taping screws (which we do a lot of) the fuel guns are the fastest every time. I will say that with all that power comes a trade off, the fuel gun will countersink the head before it sucks the boards together which is a pain. The Makita gun has that one, as it seems the easiest to finesse and suck boards up tight if they are warped or curled. Sorry I didn't realize I wasn't logged in.
  7. I heard from a Makita rep at an open house event 2 months back that there are 4.0 batteries with fuel gauge as the patent picture shows coming down the line but he couldn't tell me anymore about it than that.
  8. Really?? Let me know when this happens.
  9. I have the 2655 but I am wondering if there will be a "big brother" to it someday. I am not wanting to get the 2663 only to see a new fuel version come out a week later. Anyone have any insight??
  10. I wonder that as well ChaseRogers, I have both and I think the regular 20v impact runs screws and lags harder and faster but may not last as long.
  11. Also I talked with a Makita territory rep a month ago and he said Makita is coming out with a 4.0 battery and a fuel gauge. He also gave me that blank stare when I talked with him about the cold weather issue. He did however give me a flashlight (LXLM01W) for my son who is 5 who collects flashlights to play with so it wasn't all a waste.
  12. If Wayne is anything like me, its never enough.
  13. If you go to your local contractor supply store they will have them. Around here the one I use is Tool Depot www.tooldepot247.com
  14. I usually bring the bag of batteries into the house at night and keep some chargers inside as well. If on the road I will bring a bag of batteries into my hotel room like luggage. I have diversified my collection so its not as much of a problem anymore.
  15. I can get 2-3 hours on low-med with my 1.5 hour batteries and have not tried the XC batteries yet. I love the coat and get alot people asking me about it. I agree with the post above, you need to try one on before buying because it needs to fit snug.
  16. I have the m12 one and it has a surprising about of pressure. With deals and sales you can get the m12 for $188 with two batteries, and I think i got mine with 2 3.0 batteries for $199.
  17. I find it hard to get the side tabs pushed in enough to get the batt off. I have 3-4 1.5 and 2-3 3.0 batteries and have found a good smack with the palm of your hand to get it seated back on and then it should come off but I have never had them fall out of any of my m12 tools. I think the 3.0 batt are easier to get off than the 1.5. On another note, I was a little disappointed in the m12 hacksawzall and bought the m18 version to go with it. I also have the m18 and m12 compact bandsaws and they both have their purpose.
  18. I would keep them and get the M12 heated coat, I usually carry 1-2 batt for that and then go get a LED flashlight and that will always have one on it.
  19. I have 9-10 of the 3.0 batteries and a vast array of the lxt lineup and when I go to use a battery that is below 40 degrees it acts like its going dead or just down on power. This really shows on higher draw tools (circ saw, recip saw, large 1/2" impact). I also have some of the milwaukee m18 tools and batteries and some of the old dewalt 18v and new 20v stuff (all lithium in all 3 brands) and they dont seem to be bothered by the cold at all. Even though my makita 1/4" impact guns don't put out as much torque the yellow and red ones I have I still like the feel and ergos of my blue stuff and use it the most. I make sure to hand out the yellow stuff to other people when at a job so they can break that stuff and not my nice makita stuff.
