bob54
I bought this for $50.00 with the intention of cleaning it up and using it. It's 46" wide, 24" deep and 24" tall. I can't find a model number on it, can anyone give me an idea of the age or model number? I would like to find a drawer for the lower right that is missing
JMG
If you can't find a drawer, you could always make a door and bottom for it and just use the compartment...
BMack37
There is normally a model number sticker on the inside of one of the drawers. Great buy!
bob54
Thanks BMack37 I'll look and see what I can find. JMG I thought about that or maybe a sheet metal shop and see about having one made
Theultimatehic
Bend up a drawer and spot weld a rail on. Matching paint would be difficult unless you paint everything.
KnarlyCarl
Awesome, that's got some age to it. Nice price too, here I thought I had to have a $4k snap on box..... best thing I did was sell it
comp56
nice box, bet it tipped over on the guy once otherwise he wouldn't have put the lock drawer before moving sign on it...lol
bob54
I removed all the drawers and still no model numbers. With my luck it was on the missing drawer. I did find what looks like a QC mark on the bottom of a coupe drawers that has OK 1998. Assuming that 1998 is the ear it was built. It also uses Accuride drawer slides Today 09:22 AM
BMack37
1998 seems about right, I was going to guess late-90s to early-00s. I have no idea who the OEM would be, anyone know how long Waterloo has been making Craftsman boxes? It might not be a bad idea to go to a fab shop and see how much they'd charge to make you a drawer. Conductor562
Boxes aren't my area of expertise, but I would say 1998 fits the profile. Most likely made by Waterloo. Pretty cool box. It's a good user with some character. Nice find
bob54
Contacted Waterloo and found out parts are no longer available but did gt the model number and parts breakdown Waterloo.pdf
KnarlyCarl
That's a great start, makes everything easier when you find that much at least...
Todd the Tinkerer
It is very impressive that as the conversation rolls on the puzzle is piecing itself together. That's a nice box, good luck with it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

bob54
MODEL NO. 706.653291Have it in Primer. Using Rustoleum primer cut with Acetone 4:1 and I am going to use Rustoleum Implement paint cut 4:1 with Acetone and Enamel Hardener. Hope to get some Massey Ferguson Red on it Wednesday the 4th.If anyone has any tips or tricks for painting let me know. I am using HVLP set at 22 lbs psi for air pressure. primer went on nice and covered well so I think I'll use the same settings for the red. I added a photobucket link ofit in primer, and i have a pdf file for the box from Waterloo if anyone is interestedhttp://s276.photobucket.com/user/oak...brary/Waterloo
Theultimatehic
Sand the primer with 300 grit, then wipe down with denatured alcohol followed by a tack cloth. You'll have a nice finish. Also grab a paint filter and strain your paint and acetone thru it. This will also help you get a clean finish.
Todd the Tinkerer
Can't wait to see the finished product. I have an old husky box I pulled out of the trash and fixed the drawers on and am thinking about painting it myself.
