ChrisK
So, does anybody have experience with Hitachi 18v Brush less tools? I just won and received a Hitachi DV18DBL brush less hammer kit. The tool is quite impressive, it's lighter than my Milwaukee and there are 8 power settings on it! Just curious, the tool is pretty sweet but other than handling it and charging the batteries, I have done nothing with it yet as I got it this afternoon. It feels really well made and the chuck looks solid.
Conductor562
I believe the brushless Hitachi stuff carries a lifetime warranty similar to Ridgid. Hitachi is a good tool (though often under appreciated). Hell of a thing to win!
wayneburgess
If it is anything like as good as the last generation Hitachi then you should have yourself a great drill
ChrisK
Thanks Wayne! Free is me and that is an awesome deal! The torque rating online is impressive and the 3.0ah are a good thing too! I don't have any Hitachi cordless, just my random orbit which is great. I think I will give it a go this weekend, I am cleaning up and organizing my basement workshop! Tapcons are going to be going the other direction when they see me coming! ChrisK
Yeah Conductor562! I could not believe it when I won it! The box says lifetime so I am thinking I won in more ways than one!
Conductor562
It's nice when you get the ability to branch out into other lines without having to pay for a kit. Hitachi is a good line to be able to expand into.
ChrisK
Thanks! Only problem now...just bought the Bosch HDS181-02l hammer drill kit! Two weeks ago! Decisions, decisions!
Conductor562
So you now have the option of Milwaukee, Bosch, and Hitachi? Sounds like a pretty good "problem" to me.
ChrisK
I've got it all now! Brush less M18 impact, brush less Hitachi hammer and a Bosch hammer! If I wasn't such a diy I would start my own company!
Conductor562
I don't make a living with my tools either, well, not very many of them at least, but I have enough to outfit a small crew. Can't help it, I'm addicted to tools.
ChrisK
That's where I am! Ends up I buy and sell tools on CL and eBay and am able to increase my collection without having to ask my wife for money. Doesn't matter if I work details or overtime, "honey, can I buy that new router" generally ends in "babe why do you ask"?!!!!!? But I guess a tool addiction is better than gambling!!!! Conductor562
My addiction comes much to my wife's dismay. Now I'm starting to get into Plomb War Finish tools.
ChrisK
Yeah my wife gets a kick out of it. I think she tempers it with fact that I sell so much on cl and eBay that I don't ask for money (too much) so she kind of accepts it!
