DiverDn
Hello, I'm looking for a cordless jigsaw. I already have the Milwaukee m18 and m12 and Dewalt 20v battery platforms and would like to stick with them. It will be used by me and my wife for simple woodworking chores. Any suggestions? thanks, John
Jronman
Get the m12 because it is the lowest priced and most compact of the 3. All 3 were great for their time but now days they are starting to fall behind the competition especially considering they are all brushed. They haven't been updated in quite a long time. I am sure any one of them will do most everything you want it to. I hope this helps.
StrippedScrew
You could always pick up a Dewalt bare tool jigsaw. But if I was in the market for a cordless jigsaw I be looking at the Bosch GST 18 V-LIs
ToolBane
Occasional “simple wood-working chores” and you’d like to stay within your current platform to me says M12 by default
khariV
The M12 is a nice, small jigsaw but if you're already on the Dewalt 20v, I'd take a serious look at that one. It is larger and a bit more expensive, but it has a light AND a blower. Sawdust build up / visibility seems to be the chief complaint people have against the M12. pokepud3
The m12 was the highest rated, but if you want the best out of all of them the bosch is hands down the best performer. Not to mention they also make the best corded jigsaws as well.
Jronman
@DiverDn with the new brushless m18 jigsaws coming out you might want to wait for them to arrive. I have heard great things about barrel grip jigsaws so maybe that would be a better option than the d handle jigsaw? I haven't used a barrel grip personally.
RT29
I can attest to the visibility issue with the M12. I spend the whole cut blowing sawdust so I can see my cut line. Performance otherwise is great. But if you need accuracy with a cut, beware.
mikehussy1000
There are different types of artists, and not all of them prefer a professional approach. Many of them enjoy working from home, and that’s exactly why you may need a jigsaw for the home-based project. Hopefully, like many others, you must be looking for the best jigsaw for home use and Makita XVJ03Z is my recommendation.
