Hobo
I recently purchased a new Dewalt DWS780 12" Double Bevel Sliding Compound Miter Saw.... When opening the sealed "see-through" pouch containing the instruction manual along with several small accessory items I also found this small new part (photo included) which is magnetized and has a small sealed ball bearing on one end and a plastic fan of sorts on the other end... It almost looks like a small armature... I throughly searched the exploded-view of all the parts for this saw but can not find anything that even remotely resembles this part... This part has me completely baffled... Can anyone please help me ID this mystery part??
Jronman
Maybe the piece somehow got into the box unnoticed. The saw should come preassembled in the box. That to me looks like it could be internals to a saw but it is hard to tell.
ToolBane
That’s the rotor of a brushless motor. The plastic part being a fan.
Hobo
Since the saw works great and nothing appears to be missing I kind'a figured that this "mystery" part is just an inadvertent inclusion when the accessory parts were being bundled and bagged for shipment... Thanks for the feedback from both of you...
