mrhickory
I changed the blade on my miter saw now the brake don't work. I'm wondering if I did something wrong in the process.
kanxrus
The electric brake is a winding in the field. The polarity of the motor is reversed momentarily each time the switch is released, to slow the blade.. High arcing at the brushes indicates poor commutation between the armature and brushes. Cleaning the commutator and/or replacing the brushes may fix your brake problem. If the problem persists, contact an authorized service center for assistance.
