Hornnumb2 Posted December 7, 2012 Report Share Posted December 7, 2012 I have a DW849 buffer/grinder that was ran over by a car, it works but sounds like it in a bind. Case looks fine on it. I took it apart and there seems to be a lot of slop between the armature and the field. Shouldn't that fit pretty tight? On the armature there is one strip that has a 1/2 smooth mark wore on it. I am thinking the field got bent out of shape. How much space should be in between the field and armature. Is there a way to measure the armature to see how much is worn?
