Illini
I really don't need another impact driver, but man does that DTD148 look awesome.
Swaglosrevival
They got them on ebay for 209. Straight from japan
keslogan
I'd like to see makita come out with a 12v brushless line.
kornomaniac
No plans for that at this moment according to my makita representative the markets where makita is very big: europe and their home country really dont have too big 12 volt sales yet
BK13
I don't know nothing from nothing, but I would think that just in N. America alone, if they were competitive with Milwaukee's M12 Fuel line, 12v brushless would sell enough to turn a profit for Makita.
trogo
I've been building a line of Makita 18 volt tools recently. Really like the new brushless drills and impact drivers. Anxiously awaiting the brushless circular saw. It should give the Milwaukee 2730 some competition.
NERemodeling
You and me both man! I can't wait for that thing to get here. I use my 6.5" lxt saws more than my 7.25" 18v x2.. the old ones could really use an update though.. i heard from a dealer that they will be avaliable Jan 1 but don't quote me. I heard from a dealer that they would have it posted on Jan 1 and no sign yet.. I figure it has to do with the new year holiday and weekend. I'll have to keep patient

NERemodeling
XDT09... Winter 2015... Jeez, guys, can you be a little more vague? It's winter 2015 right now! Grrr....Haha. I know. They seem to suck at sticking to dates for new tool releases anyway so even if they gave a date I wouldn't hold my breath.. it will come.. that's what I keep repeating over and over in my head. Lol
BK13
Yeah. Man, being a marketing flak for the tool companies must be a very stressful job...

kornomaniac
The brushless jig saws have been out here for a few months in Belgium. Lovely tools Barrel grip version sells very well. Alot of carpenters prefer it. A very nice feature is the "soft no load". If there isn't any pressure applied to the blade the motor will automatically shift down to a slow speed. Less noise. Less battery usage and you can much more easily ( Lack of english vocabulary imminent NOW ! ) and precisaly align the blade to the wood where you want to start your cut. As soon as you apply pressure on the wood the tool will rev up. Very cool !
NERemodeling
That's similar to my Carvex but I'm gonna get crazy and say makitas feature sounds a little nicer! On the Festool it is in soft start mode only until the first time you apply pressure to the blade.. it won't slow back down again until you turn it off.. there are times when I'm cutting in and out of a board and wish it would slow itself down between cuts without turning the tool off. The noise and battery usage are bonuses to me but it is really about how much easier and cleaner you can start the cut that I love about it.Now I want the dang Makita even more!! kornomaniac
Sorry to dissapoint you Ner The makita also does not slow down unless you release the trigger
