NERemodeling
I have the steel one, I bought it years ago.. I don't think there is any reason to go with the metal one.. the plastic will serve you fine.it just sat for a while until probably a year ago when I got serious about dust collection. I built my own wood box that integrated with my festool CT vacs. It seriously works amazing!I use it with my planex for drywall sanding, table saw, planers and routers.I've made a few mods to it since this picture but nothing major. One is I use a much shorter hose from the top to the vac.I essentially made my own ultimate dust deputy, I couldn't justify spending 250 when I already had the parts to build one
madman_us
i agree with you NER, for those cyclones they just want to much money, you can easily build one out of a galvanized metal sheet or a street cone
comp56
metal was pricey but plastic one was on sale for $44 free shipping thought that was reasonable.....
madman_us
$44 is pretty nice - i cant find any under $60 - always 60-

rfwjr
You could build a Thien Separator if you do not want to buy one. You can size it to the container of your choice. I built one for a 7 gallon bucket but I have seen some built on a 30 gallon trash can.
