made an online order for some tools and such and decided to grab one of these while I was at it......anyone else using one of these? I will post some pics once I receive it and get it set up......

i don't own one - but i was always looking at those.

im going to build my own cyclone for my 2hp motor/blower with 1600CFM.

bought clear plastic sheets last year - just have to get started lol.

I have the steel one, I bought it years ago.. I don't think there is any reason to go with the metal one.. the plastic will serve you fine.
it just sat for a while until probably a year ago when I got serious about dust collection. I built my own wood box that integrated with my festool CT vacs. It seriously works amazing!
I use it with my planex for drywall sanding, table saw, planers and routers.

I've made a few mods to it since this picture but nothing major. One is I use a much shorter hose from the top to the vac.

I essentially made my own ultimate dust deputy, I couldn't justify spending 250 when I already had the parts to build one

metal was pricey but plastic one was on sale for $44 free shipping thought that was reasonable.....

You could build a Thien Separator if you do not want to buy one.  You can size it to the container of your choice.  I built one for a 7 gallon bucket but I have seen some built on a 30 gallon trash can.
