comp56
while doing the shower reno, I opened up a wall that has been there since at least 50 years or so.....found a half dozen marbles in the wall, the house was built in 1904 and the wall that I removed was put there in 1967 according to dated drawings we have for the house.....this what a 50+ yr old ally/marble looks like ......looks new to me....lol
MikeyB
That's pretty cool Comp, I used to look forward to what we would find while doing a bathroom/kitchen demo, especially the old beer cans or empty pack of Lucky's, or newspapers that were used for fire stopping or insulation.... NERemodeling
cool, Comp! its always fun to imagine how the little treasures we find in the walls of houses during demo could have gotten there demoing bathrooms in old houses that have medicine cabinets with the slot in the inside for used shaving blades is always cool.. sometimes there can be hundreds or thousands of old replaceable single edge shaving razor blades in the wall cavity! Poisonfangs85
Cool find comp. In the process of renovating our home we have found a royal crown cola bottle from the 30's a whiskey bottle from the same time, framing square, hammer, and a screw driver. I love the mystery and the questions that start coming to mind
NERemodeling
Cool find comp. In the process of renovating our home we have found a royal crown cola bottle from the 30's a whiskey bottle from the same time, framing square, hammer, and a screw driver. I love the mystery and the questions that start coming to mind ahh, thats an easy one.. the guy building the house started drinking his coke and wiskeys once he was all framed in.. then he was so waisted when he started hainging the plaster board he had no clue he left his tools in the wall.. i bet the wiskey bottle was empty becasue if he realized he left a partial bottle of hooch in the wall you better believe he would have opened that sucker back up to get it.. the tools though, not worth the work (come on, hes a lazy drunk) haha
Poisonfangs85
I agree with the story NER! Mystery solved, and the bottles of fire water in the walls explain a lot of the messed up framing we found. Probly looked swell to someone seeing double vision!

ChrisK
Hahahahahahahahahaha Comp. I opened up my knee wall upstairs today and found some dungeon porn magazines, cigarette butts and candy wrappers. Ends up maybe fifteen years ago, my house was a rental and the kids cut into the pine knotty board. I knew there was an access panel and wanted to dress it up so I removed the boards and got the surprise. A little disturbing. I wish it was my marbles though
