comp56
I happen to have a fuel 6-1/2" and am really happy with it.... cutting performance, run time with a XC or 4.0ah weight, and especially line of sight.....

kruton
the only difference is the 5-1/2" has laser? thats the only difference? Are you looking specifically at the Ryobi line or any saw in that size range?Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk
DR99
I would get the Ryobi 6 1/2 better blade selection and the saw seems to be more powerful in general. You don't really need a laser to make accurate cuts.
ChrisK
I'm with DR. Get the larger blade. Finding those little blades will be a pain plus the size really limits the use. Oh, and welcome to the forum!
ryanjbutler1
Definitely want to get the larger blade. DR is right it's much easier to find those blades.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

ofektal8
I Will Buy The 6-1/2" Saw But It says out of stock online on home depot is it out of stock in the store i chose or out of stock on all of home depot stores?
DR99
It's a relatively new product from Ryobi you might want to see if your local store might have got one in it is possible.

kruton
RyobiOk. I agree with DR I would go with the 6-1/2".Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk
snarf
I would get the Ryobi 6 1/2 better blade selectionThat's exactly what I was going to say. The 5 1/2" came with the kit I got. When I went to go get a 100 tooth blade for it, my local Home Depot had a good selection of blades for the 6 1/2" and 7 1/2" saws, but only had 1 option for a 100 tooth blade for the 5 1/2"...had I wanted a different brand, I guess I would've been out of luck. comp56
sorry didn't see it was a topic under Ryobi, thought it was a circular saw question in general........but ya the bigger blade is better for availability and for cutting
Nordraw
Get the bigger blade every time. Hard to find the smaller blades too.
Bigmikez
Welcome to the forum!! And like the guys said 61/2 is the way to go!
Nalu Rash
Yup get the 6-1/2". If it's still not in stock at your Home Depot, you can request a special order for any product they sell on the website. It may take 6 to 8 weeks thoughSent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G870A using Tapatalk

kruton
I think as long as it doesn't say out of stock online you can have it shipped to your store.Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk
ChrisK
And I also agree a 6 and 1/2 saw is the way to go, more power, easier to find blades. Lasers are for beginners who dont know how to follow a straight pencil line. I think lasers are actually a great benefit for sawing. My Kapex is NOT a beginners saw and I have two of them on that. Some people like having that definitive red line especially when the saw might not have a blower and that thin pencil line is obscured by sawdust. My corded Skilsaw Sidewinder doesn't have laser and it's a pro grade saw but they solve the sawdust problem with a great blower that pushes the saw dust out of your line of site and a great port for getting rid of the saw dust in the rear. No doubt though, having a positive line to follow isn't a bad thing either and when a blower or DC isn't available, I wouldn't mind having something to follow. comp56
I agree with you Chris, when I have my mitre saw outside the laser is pretty much useless but when I'm in my shop it works great. none of my tools are beginner grade, does it make you a better craftsman? no..... only you can do that but it does come in handy.....should you rely on it .....no .....but it does provide a fairly good guide..... austinthecity
Do you definitely need a cordless circular saw? I'm not a fan of the ryobi cordless other than small jobs.
