hemdale
Been using the Mitutoyo repeatedly and it's a true marvel. Consistent results over and over again !
Fazzman
I have alot of Mitutoyo tools,as well as brown and sharpe and Starrett. I dont own any digital calipers or mics I prefer the dial kind. If I worked in a place with alot of dust or something like that then the digitals would be used more. As a machinist not a day goes by that I dont use my calipers and micrometers. The cheap ones do suck for trying to be precision, even with good ones that you know can easily be trusted to .001 or less if you need more accuracy then that you really need a micrometer. Most if not all good quality measuring tools usually have a cert of traceability, regardless you should always use standards to check calibration. I have several B&S calipers that are over 20 years old and measure as good as they did when new. Thats a nice pair of calipers you got there, make sure you get a case for it if it didnt come with one.
