Santi_78342
Nice video Jimbo! That thing looks sweet! One of the carpenters on the job I was working at today had a Colt. If I didn't have to hurry up and get the LVT in the glue I would have went over and played with it
Santi_78342
I don't have many Bosch tools, but the ones I do have are awesome. (MR23EVSK Router Kit, JS572EBL Jigsaw and the AG-45 Grinder)It seems I usually lean that way when I'm picking up something with a cord and go for Red when cordless. JimboS1ice
Here is a video of the router put to work, and me talking some more!
comp56
nice little router jimbo, but while watching your video I noticed you are cutting with the wrong rotation, the back of a router bit should be cutting into new wood you have the front of the bit cutting into the new wood with a straight edge/guide. with a small light cut you may not have noticed any pull but you want the router to want to go towards the fence not away. to have proper rotation with the straight edge on the side you have you should start your cut at the end and go to beginning. look at my crude picture....on outside cuts you should always go right starting with edge closest to you on the left and on inside you go right and start from edge away from you..... I hope I'm not just confused but it looks backwards to me........
jeffmcmillan
What comp means is when you're cutting with a guide, the guide should be on the left of the router. Same reason a circ saw spins the way it does and radial arm saws take people's arms off.
JimboS1ice
Pretty sure I understand comp, so the router should be facing away from me? And pull it towards myself? I didn't notice that it didn't want to stay nice against the guide, had to fight it a little bit.JimboSent from my iPad using Tapatalk
comp56
if you did the same cut with the guide on the other side of router, it would make router suck up against the guide like I said you were cutting a very light shallow cut but it if it was deeper or a bigger bit you would notice more of a struggle to keep it steady. I explained it in the post that way so you could remember because someday it can take off on you like 10 men......

kruton
Nice video Jimbo, now I've got to get one! Thanks for posting the explanation with a picture too Comp. Unless someone teaches you how to use a router or if one got away from you and you found out from experience, I would say a lot of people didn't know that.
