99_XC600
I'm in the market for a small compressor. I currently have a 35 gallon Oil free vertical that will make you deaf when it's running and a 5 gallon pancake compressor that make you semi-deaf when it's running. I'm going to replace the pancake compressor and I've been looking at some of the the smaller units and I was going to pick up the Husky Silent Flow, but it looks like that has gone EOL and is no longer listed on HD's site. So I've been considering the following anyone have experience with any of them? Main goal is too have something that's quiet and good portability. http://www.homedepot.com/p/DEWALT-2-5-Gal-Portable-Electric-Heavy-Duty-200-PSI-Quiet-Trim-Air-Compressor-DWFP55130/205117108 http://www.homedepot.com/p/DEWALT-2-5-Gal-Portable-Electric-Heavy-Duty-200-PSI-Quiet-Trim-Air-Compressor-DWFP55130/205117108 http://www.homedepot.com/p/DEWALT-1-gal-Portable-Electric-Trim-Air-Compressor-D55140/202019874

What will be your use? Rolair is top notch also if you were looking at HD check out the California air models as well. And yes the husky silent air. All are pretty quiet. If you want smaller the Rolair air buddy too. I got a good deal on the California air 10020. A little bigger just as quiet. And the 4610. Smaller and even quieter. Shop around for the best price. WigWagWorkshop
I have the one below, and I really like it. Pretty quiet for an oil-less. http://m.homedepot.com/p/DEWALT-6-Gal-Electric-Air-Compressor-DWFP55126/205298243
BMack37
Go to HD and check the computer, some stores have pallets of them some have none. Still at $100. I picked one up this past Sunday, shockingly quiet.
WeldfabNeil
For you it sounds like the rollair jc10 or even there trim buddy would be a good consideration. I know rollair is pricy but there worth it. I own a rollair vt25big I run my plasma cutter off of. I also know a lot of guys who run rollair an are pleased. I've got the Rolair JC10 and it's absolutely quiet and awesome to use.
99_XC600
I would love to get a Rolair, but the only problem is that I'm limited to HD for options. My stepson gave me a $250 gift card for Christmas. I would mainly using the compressor for small jobs. Doing trim in the house and small projects in the garage. I'm actually considering selling the big vertical compressor since I never really use it anymore since I've switched over to battery powered impacts and wrenches. Those small pancake compressors are all going to be around 75db and above for some reason. Your best option, given your constrains is the husky silent air. You are going to have to go to HD and keep looking until you get one on sale or returned if you don't want loud. Good luck 99" John, Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk[emoji848]

If you're limited to HD, I think I would try my best to find the Husky silent flow. 4.6 gallon and very quiet for only $100! Heck you can buy two and sell one on craigslist for probably $150! The Dewalts do have some more PSI but also a smaller tank and draws about 5 more amps and costs twice as much, if you can find the Husky. I wish it was more of a sure thing, maybe try to go to a HD with less foot traffic.

kruton
I asked one time and they told me I wasn't allowed to get on... I think you just don't ask. I haven't tried it before myself, but I would use the same rule of thumb as going into a bar when you are underage. Just act like your supposed to be there and maybe they won't card you! 99_XC600
Went on a mission this morning to visit 3 stores with hopes of finding one. I lucked out and found a store in Enfield CT that had 10 of them still in the shrink wrap on top of the steel racks. Had to wait about 20 min for the staff to clear out the aisle and pull it down but it was worth it. I can't believe how quiet it is in comparison. BMack37
I don't know how I missed the computer question...There's normally one at the customer service desk, that's what I always use. I've never had any employee pay any attention to me using it. They're at a desk and facing out towards the store with a chair. If they are facing towards the store, chair or no chair, the computer is for customer use.
BMack37
Also, glad you found that! I honestly didn't know they made compressors that were that quiet.

99_XC600
No doubt on the TIA tagging. I have some stickers I can gladly put on. I need to get out and clean the garage.. It looks like a bomb went off in it.
