PaulDuncan
Hi, I'm confused as to why the online Hilti manual says that I can use a Black cartridge (which has a power of 800J - see page 292 in this pdf) in a DX460 which has a max power of 325J. Does anyone know why? Is it because 475J of energy is lost somehow? Maybe it's lost to recoil? Does anyone know what the 325J rating is actually measured from? Cheers, Paul
jeffmcmillan
Is the 325J rating stated as effect on the fastener or the maximum power cartridge to use? 60% energy loss sounds about right
PaulDuncan
Thanks for your reply Jeff. The DX460 implies that you can use a black/purple cartridge in it. Since the black/purple cartridge has a rated power of 800J I'm guessing that 325J must be the power that's transferred to the fastener. If you think 60% power loss sounds about right then that gives me confidence that I can use the black/purple cartridges thanks Jeff. I'm just waiting on Hilti to confirm and will let you know what they say. Thanks
