PutnamEco
Hope you have a back up tool. I don't know how Metabo is on warranty repairs, at times like that I'm really glad that Hilti has such an awesome warranty and an extremely fast turnaround. wayneburgess
I worked out I could buy 4 Metabo for the cost of having a Hilti on fleet though. And they break just like all the rest, am just pissed off that it has happened and to a tool I have had 11 months and was too busy to notice that you must complete the warranty form on line before you get the three year cover. So what will be will be and will let you guys know how I go on with it. If Hilti is so expensive there it might be worth paying the shipping from elsewhere. I can't believe they are so hardline on having you all sign up to there fleet program. I would think they lose a lot of business by doing so.
Conductor562
I know with Milwaukee registering the tool activates the warranty on the date of purchase. If you do not register it the warranty falls back to the date of manufacture. At 11 months you might be covered either way.

wayneburgess
It was a little over the top LOL but the amazing part is the 18v which I used to get a good 7 or 8 inches through while my Pal went to get the leads and set up the corded drill. You know it's stuff like that makes me think even more that we need more 36v and maybe even 48v cordless tools....
wayneburgess
I am looking at the 36v 4ah Metabo drill because of the Battery capacity as much as anything.Going of the 18v line it should be a great drill because I think they have learned from the 24v model. Pennywise
If you don't like down time on tools, Hilti is still worth paying for, my 36v is 6yrs old no issues apart from one battery fault, it was back within 2days. I do manly 20mm holes into re enforced concrete, I have a core drill for larger holes and a corded TE-7 for multiple holes.
wayneburgess
I had a bit of a bad do with Hilti Pal so have avoided them since. But must admit the couple I have are very good.Metabo have now replaced my faulty item and it is incredibly powerful.I did go over the top and it would have killed any drill out there to be fair.
