  1. I have a Hitachi H65-HD2 demolition hammer drill that I am working on. The old manual for it does not show what oil to use in the gearbox. The newer models look like they use a grease, not an oil. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Tom
  2. I’m curious as to what everyone picked up this year and and got a really good deal. For me I was able to purchase a 12” dual bevel mitre saw from Skilsaw for $139.99 Suggested retail price @ 649.99 via CPO outlets

  4. I have 2 18v Hitachi EBM1830 batteries that came with a 8 tool combo kit. Tried using my hammer drill, 1 battery works fine, the other says fully charged on the charger and when I use it with the drill, it runs about a minute before the drill quits. I can immediately place it back on the charger and it shows fully charged. Both batteries read 20.4v with a voltmeter. Bad battery?
  5. This monster comparison is out biggest yet! 7 brands. Mike and I have put in 75 hours all up ... :/
  6. My Hitachi DV18DL which has been a faithful friend over many years is no more. Whilst making a Homemade BBQ... she bit the dust.
  7. I'm planing on buying a drill, impact driver set, not sure what to get.also not sure if i want a full sized set or a compact set. The main thing is the price...I would like it to be under $150(or cheaper). For $100 on amazon there is the hitachi compact 12v set, and at menards the bosch 18v set is on sale for $140. Any suggestions?
  8. Recently I purchased a drill powered Tablesaw (Hitachi branded). But it seems very specific to what model drill I can actually use to power it. I've tried several old drills I have and have had no luck (either the collar was too small and the drill wouldn't stay put or the bit that attaches after taking off the chuck wouldn't fit because the shank was too small or the thread not fine enough). I was hoping someone out there could tell me what drill I need to get this thing up and running or had any ideas on what else I could do to get it running? Thanks to all in advance!
  9. I love good deals. but being the top 10 people at a doorbuster sale would be my first. My buddy talked me to waking up at 4am and wait on the line to get in the store at 6am for the annual big blow out sale in my local contactor store called HPM here on the big island Hawaii. It's pretty much the bigger tools sale you can find for the best deal. Here are what I got:) and a tough system cart is on my way. The dewalt sale rep. pretty much talked me into giving me a free tough system cart if I buy 2 set of bare tools with my other purchase. I was only planning spending no more than 300bucks. Became 1 $275 plus another $383 translation. But the dewalt sale rep. gave me 17x$10 special coupons with 1 free 3.0ah battery and USB power source and the $170 special coupon covering the tough system cart and the set drill bit set for free. I spent only about $420 on all those dewalt tools with a free cart. The Bosch rep sold me on their 3 speed ec brushless impact driver, The Bosch sale rep. gave me a addionational $25off plus 3 extra 2.0ah silm packs on top the deal, totals 5x 2.0ah silm packs and extra $25off come out for $225. I love big tools sale like this one on my island
  10. I have been in the power tool repair business for 50+ years. I recently replaced the batteries on 2 of my Hitachi 14.4v. drills with 1.5Ah #BCL1415 batteries. Since Panasonic came out with the battery drills many years ago, I have used cheap, good and great batteries. These batteries are an embarassment to Hitachi. They are even worse than the NiCads they replaced. Worse batteries I have ever seen.
