Is Tool Performance Increased with HD Battery Packs?

Long time reader... first time poster.

With the launch of the HD 12.0 platform a question that has I have pondered for a while has surfaced again...

Do certain tools perform better with certain batteries? We know that our tools were perform longer when when the amp hours are increased, but have Milwaukee now created a platform (with the HD 9.0 or HD 12.0) where certain tools actually perform better with certain battery packs?

If so, is there a list of which tools provide optimal performance at which pack levels?

There are 2 main ways to increase power in a tool. You can increase cells or increase cell size. The HD 9.0 got more power because it added 5 more cells to the pack than what the 5.0 batteries had. The HO 12.0 increased power over the HD 9.0 because it may have kept the same amount of cells but it increased the size of cells to 21700 in the 12 vs 18650 in the 9. With current technology to get more runtime and more power you have to increase size and/or weight. The 12.0 was designed for tools that are already big like the gen 2 fuel circ saw, the fuel table saw, the 1 inch fuel impact wrench, and etc.
