Welcome to the forum Jon, I agree could be brushes. Also check the arbor and make sure she's square and not warped....like my sense of humor
  4. Live Free or Die baby!!!!!! Love the north woods, spent some time atv'ing at Jericho last year and do quite a bit of hiking up there but believe it or not, I DO NOT SKI!!!!! The femur is a big honking bone and I've seen those break on the trails!
  5. No pics today but finally finished the cabinet doors. Waiting for the hardware to get delivered but picked up a nice thick piece of maple to turn the legs on. The cabinet shelves are done and sander. I might try finishing tomorrow wth a Danish oil and some armor seal. Looking good!
  6. Hope you feel better dude!
  7. Thanks Comp. In a nutshell Dan, I've been called a bit of a snob and I've got investments across the board and I too am waiting patiently for the brushless recip but I actually like the Makita tools I have. But....try Bosch out! Give big red a shot! Go yellow! The biggest problem with this site I've seen is my wallet is consistently empty and my shop has more colors than the rainbow.
  8. And I lied.....its four tools.....
  9. The 18v sander.... http://makitatools.com/en-us/Modules/Tools/ToolDetails.aspx?Name=LXOB01
  10. Also, welcome to the forum Dan. No problem putting a link up though. When we see links pop up with new members there is nothing wrong with that, just makes people a little nervous. In response to your Makita woes..... I have three Makita tools:
  11. The link isn't showing up did the OP remove it?
  12. This old house has been sponsored by Festool for a while now. It's kind of sad to see Dewalts name blacked out though. That is their light duty drill boring through that house!
  13. I mean.....if you weren't a dude I'd motor boat it.
  14. Wow. Kato.....you have a really nice butt.
  15. Yeeeeesh. I thought big red was pricey. Though my Makita tools wouldn't mind being lit up by a big teal light
  16. Yeah the Festool I bought was $129. The Bosch at the time was $59, though now it could be had for $39 on eBay. I want go with Milwaukee but just because I'm not in the battery line any longer, I wouldn't mind trying the Dewalt stuff but why spend the cash? Especially since I got those friggin awesome shop lights??????
  17. Ohhhh okay! No! Unless the 2x is made out of metal Then the Bosch will work just fine! The Syslite has a spinning hook designed to fit over the 2x or screw to a mount. Personally? I wouldn't get the Syslite. Very expensive, great light but it ain't cheap. Super bright, the internal battery lasts a while but with an external battery attached it'll last for a long time. If you're not in the line then the Syslite will be used with an internal battery. However, it comes with an AC charger which doubles as a power cord and of course you can use the light as long as you want! The Bosch? Uses their 12v batteries and the thing last quite a while, has a great light pattern but not nearly as diffused as the Festool which will light up large portions of a room.
  18. WOW!!!!!! Dont do that!!!!! I hear old hags bite!!!!
  19. What's that Not Carl? The Syslite and the Bosch?
  20. Welcome to the forum fellow New Englander!!!
  21. I've got two, the Festool Syslite first generation and love it. I also have the Bosch FL12 and love that one too. Plus the magnet on the Bosch is really strong and helps a lot. The nice thing about the Festool is it has an internal battery and comes with an AC charger plus a car charger and you can power it wth the 12,15 and 18v batteries for extra long run time.
