  1. Don't worry guys. I'm still here
  2. Well Dano, slow wins the prize. I've had my renovation topic going for almost two years and have been making regular updates throughout and like most people with a shop be it mechanical or woodworking like mine, space is always an issue but using the French cleat system is a great way to make manageable room and organization for your shop. I love watching these posts, the best ones on the forum arguably (in my head) and I get ideas just from looking over these tours. Also I'm curios, is that a jointer I see?
  3. Welcome to the forum dude.
  4. Welcome to the forum Bill!
  5. And the link to the video is now public on my YouTube channel. I've had the channel for a while but man, what a pain in the butt.
  6. Well keep in mine that mine is not a full size lathe. It's big but it ain't going to turn really large bowls. I've heard the Jet is great. I know first hand that the Ppwer attic is AWESOME. I've also got a few hours on one of the bigger Novas. Great machine. But I really love my Rikon. It's the perfect size for me. I'm not planning on turning long legs (I'm more of an arts and crafts style guy and love square tapers). But I could certainly turn some smaller ones without ANY problem!
  7. Sooooo...... I haven't shot a video in a while and wanted to show an actual video of a new tool I have. It's the Lie Neilsen Beading Tool (essentially a scraper plane) that allows you to create your own custom molding. About six months before I lost my best buddy Rufus, Samantha, my wife, sold her horse Countessa. My wife is an accomplished equestrian and (horses scare the heck out of me) was lost without Tess but she felt because we had been trying to have a child (yeah yeah....I'm old) she should sell Tess as my wife does hunter jumper riding and it is dangerous. Anyways. Long story short, Samantha got a new horse, Winters Blizzard (ironic as we didn't have any snow....for once) and I promised to build her a tack trunk. While doing this I came to the realization that I want to do my own custom molding. So here's the video.....of the tool in action This tool is really amazing and will be serving me quite well in the immediate future especially when I begin building my own custom cabinets for our home.
  8. Thanks Comp and yes Bert, that is the grripper. I even have a 1/8" shim on the way to modify it. Love the tool.
  9. Hahaha just so you know I tried to post a pic again and it failed
  10. Dano, I'm sorry I didn't see this post but I'd,li,e to recommend the Rikon 70-220VSR. I've had mine since the beginning of winter and it is a PHENOMENAL lathe. I've used several during a class I took and the Midi does everything I need including the ability to turn bowls. There is a tail stock extension available too for making some larger pieces too. Here is the link to Wppdcraft but I actually got mine for about 350 as it had a recalled electronic switch. I was told the switches were fine and Rikon authorized the huge reduction an included a second electric switch to boot. I love my lathe and have since bought a Rikon 14" bandsaw. I'm loving the Rikon tools I have and as my shop grows I'll add a couple of more. http://www.woodcraft.com/product/861205/rikon-70220vsr-midi-lathe.aspx

  12. I'd like one with a hot chick in lingerie that comes down when I get home..... "Going down.....Mr. Taylor?" Yessiree ma'am!
  13. Guys I deleted the link in the quote too! Thanks!
  14. I deleted the eBay link posting so it shouldn't be a problem
  15. Welcome to the forum Rose. To echo Jimbos suggestion check the blade types that you bought. The attached picture should help you out. I use Festool and Bosch blades. They are really nice blades from each maker and have some great qualities especially for endurance. Hope this helps and let us know how you made out!
  16. I've had it happen a few times while logging in Eric, but when I get it I got to my profile or the main page and it lets me in. I thought it was just a glitch on my end. It doesn't interfere with logging in though.
  17. Sorry about your situation man. I hope you company can kick into gear and recovery is fast!
  18. Thanks guys, I appreciate it
  19. Comp, that was a heck of an idea. Sorry I didn't see this. Thanks for offering though, seriously nice of you.
  20. The out feed table is working awesome. I boarded up all but the upper shelf that is not equipped with a drawer. I wanted a pass through space, don't know why but o figured may as well. I have to add two doors, one for the compressor station, the other for the tool storage area.
  21. Cut, glued and assembled the door for the tack trunk I am building my wife. I love my Sawstop
