  1. I didn't want to say anything till it came in so the Festool HKC 55 18v brushless circular saw with two tracks has shown up! Can't wait to shoot a video but this is a really rare tool in the ISA as its NAINA. Hopefully in a week or so I'll upload a video and post it. Really fascinating saw and thus far Mafell is the only other one out there though truthfully if you think Festool is expensive.....W-O-W! This wasn't too bad and I had been looking at the Makita brushless for quite a while but this guys is the bees knees. It's a contractor saw with some serious power and seriously smooth cutting ability. It'll run off of 12,15 and 18v batteries but I've only got the 18s.
  2. This is what my shop is all about.....love.
  3. Love the video WigWag and that bandsaw is a beaut. Good for you dude! Can't wait to see that walnut bandsaw box!
  4. Wow. I made a bunch of chopping blocks this Christmas. Kind of feel inferior now!
  5. I actually love them. Problem is, I still wake up in the morning with it so the friction is a real be-hotcc!
  6. Never been a drinker myself. But tonight, there will be a Sam Adams Cold Snap on the couch with me
  7. What Comp? That's why I bought the Sawstop. I can drink a few beers then make highly accurate cuts on my table saw My wife makes fun of me. I don't drink anything hard. I will only have one or two beers maybe twice a week. If I have 2 beers I am completely useless. At 220 I should be able to drink five or six but two is the magical number.
  8. No insulation Protool. Just cracked concrete! The new shop will be insulated with the wood stove. I'm with you Jimbo. I'll have a nice chair and a tv, a beer cooler. You know cause power tools and beer ,makes good wood working,
  9. Thanks Mike! Comp, I got two dehumidifiers that run most of the spring and summer. Insulated walls? What's that? This is an old New Englander Cape. I've got a foundation with more cracks than Obama care. Jimbo, nope. That's why I'm moving outside, I'll heat with a wood stove in my new shop.
  10. Thanks Wigwag, I get the mats at HD and was buying them one or two at a time over several months. They are 3'x3' and are $25 each. They have tabs on two sides making them inter connectable and they are really high quality. Especially for a damp basement. The bottoms of the mats have tiny ridges and they are festooned with holes that allow for quick drying. As far as heat, it was -14f this morning and I use a kerosene torpedo heater with an open window to keep the shop above 50!
  11. Love seeing PC on the scene. Would love to hear about their new nailers too.
  12. Wow. All that and a history lesson. I am amazing.
  13. Thanks guys. Protool those are a combination of Jet and Bessey K Body Revo parallel clamps and some Dewalt XL clamps. I have a bunch of 12" "F" clamps on a rack below the charging station. The flag is the Bennington Flag and was flown during the Battle of Bennington in Vermont where militiamen from NH and Massachusetts backed by Vermont militia defeated British and Hessians forces. The rubber mats, yeah. I've got a bad back. They actually inter connect via tabs and are super dense. And thanks for reminding me....I don't have a garage
  14. Beautiful work Comp. Mrs Comp is a lucky gal!
  15. I'm glad they came in guys! I hope you both get a lot of use out of them!
  16. Dude. Why is there someone not wearing any pants ??? It's just an impact gun!!!!!!!!!!!
  17. Made some changes to the shop including cutting down and moving a wall. Moving the Rikon lathe and adding my big black beauty to the main area.
  18. Beautiful job dude. Looks like you might have a bug man.....the woodworking bug
  19. Cool stuff Carl. I know Milwaukee and Dewalt have these for sale and I have a Dewalt and. Powermatic stool in the shop. They're Greg little stools that swivel. I think I paid about $75 each for them. As a matter of fact my Powermatic on came in the day before yesterday. I ordered it the Sunday after Thanksgiving when I bought my jointer.
  20. Sorry Justin. Based on the way the wall is torqued it looks like somebody tried prying it in. I hope you didn't lose anything
  21. Thank you for your interest in RIDGID. No, there is not a stand that RIDGID offers, or recommends for use with the portable model table saw R4516. Regards, RIDGID Hey dude, that's directly from Ridgid!! I did make a rolling cart for my DW745 (sold it and the cart) out of 2x and plywood and secured it to the table with lags. It's was very stable and had casters on it. I'm with Jimbo and Ridgid on this one though. It's suck of it crashed over on the side!
