  1. You know Punda, I would like to too but I'm afraid they won't intro anything good unles they intro the sliding one I saw.
  2. Hahahahaha now that's a sight! I'll paint mine green and dark blue or red white and black . They are cool looking camps though. That shade of yellow is actually a nice color and you can see a lot of our older New England homes in that shade. Do you have a water side picture you can post. I'd love to the other side!
  3. Thanks Regopit! Done deal, I'm getting them !!
  4. Will do Regopit, thanks! I really want that unit plus the small one.
  5. the Milwaukee box is being stocked by HD. I have not seen Dewalt Tough System boxes at HD or Lowes but Amazon sells them.
  6. The more I see the set up the more I am leaning that way. Plus I was thinking of getting one for my cruiser to store my weapons cleaning kit and extra mags and rounds. The box is really perfect for that task. Pricey though! I know, funny coming from me but the drawer unit is 70-80 bucks! I don't buy Systainers because of the cost but I have six of them and five l boxxes. Something like the tough system is right on though for modular purposes. Still would prefer red white and black though
  7. I don't think so, BUT...I've got mine in the fixed mount under the table so it's really easy to adjust with either sliding it unlocked or micro adjusting. I guess as long as the screw will hold it under tension it should be fine, that thing is a power house. If your going to keep it mounted why not remove the springs? Do you have a fine adjustment knob or do you have to man handle the thing into place? If so I'd really spring for the kit Regopit showed, it's pretty pricey but if it off sets the cost of another router (and seriously????im not a pro but you can NEVER have too many routers!!!!!!) and it will be easier to use unmounted for table top work. Keep in mind though, you can get a decent router from PC or Bosch or Milwaukee etc.... With a fixed base and you can mount that and use Big Blue unmounted and a plunge router with monstrous power!
  8. Never mind....just figured out which router you have....nope! Maybe spring removal will be the way for you! Sorry! You might want to spring for another router with an adjustable fixed base. Keep the Makita for the big jobs, table top if you don't want to go for the table insert or locking tool! That's a big honking router dude! Super power....does it come with a cape? The thing is twice the HP my Milwaukee has. I think I have wood and router envy Yukka Yukka Yukka!
  9. Hey one more thing....I just realized springs....is that referring to your plunge base? If so you don't have a fixed base for your tool? That would probably fix your problem. I have two bases....one fixed (on my mounted Milwaukee) and one adjustable (spring loaded) for table top work. Can you buy a fixed base for, your Makita?
  10. Check with Makita for a depth adjustment tool like the one pictured in Regopit's picture. I have Ryobi's bigger MDF table and for a hundred bucks it comes set up and would be easy to modify for one of those screws so I can use a top side adjustment as opposed to using the micro adjustment on my Milwaukee router. I haven't bought one for my tool because it is not terribly difficult to micro adjust, it's a slight pain cause I have to crouch down to visually check but it isn't that bad that I want to spend forty bucks. As far as not locking the router, I would be hesitant to do that, you hit a knot or something and that could crash your project and possibly hurt you. Other than that, sorry my friend, I have no advice for you
  11. I've bought several refurbished tools without any issues whatsoever whereas I have bought new tools with issues! Just make sure you are getting manufacturer refurbished tools or authorized repairers and most of them come with a one year warranty! Regopit is right on too, you can fine great deals but cross check those deals through CPO, or Big Sky Tools or other respectable sales sites. Sometimes you will see large changes in prices. Punda mentioned CPO and I buy most of refurbished tools through them or Big Sky, i would also trust HD as they are the authorized dealer and have appropriate service centers. I have bought my Honda (American made) lawn mower, two Echo weed walkers and an awesome Grill through HD and they were all certified. No problems and have had them for five years and they work awesome.
  12. Plus they have the Airstrike! Alright, got ya!
  13. I just saw the video on the drawer unit from Milwaukee DR. That I would buy!!
  14. You know...all kidding a aside, for under sixty bucks you can get the saw, battery and charger...$75 and two batteries. I don't think I'll get one, I want the fuel saw, but that is really a great deal for a DIY guy like me or even a small GC with a budget like my friend Kevin who loves his Ryobi tools.
  15. So nicad batteries with no over charge protection? Wonder if they make a conditioner charger?
  16. The small one the DF500...more than I'll ever use. The 700 is really way too much for me. I'm almost there though!
  17. Great review Javier...for cheap money not a bad option for keeping in the shed or the truck.
  18. Sorry to disappoint ladies....no cool-ah fo Chris y'all! To much cashola that I am putting toward my Domino!!! Looks like I'll have to slum with my trusty ole Coleman . Plus seriously, $95????? Kinda like the new Woodpeckers one time tool that just came out!!!!! I'll stick with my Irwin clamps!
  19. Hey Baza, I love my l boxxes and my Systainers but am curious how the Makita modular unit is? Is it made by Tanos, it looks like the older Systainer.
  20. I'm heading to Fla next month Travis. Going to be hotter than heck too . After this winter I can't wait to melt.
  21. You have to love the video of this huge guy dropping this work box with all of his expensive tools in it. Hey it's rated for a 1000 drops with fifty pounds in it! Looks like this guy will need a new box in six months the way he drops the thing!!!!!!! Hahahahahaha
  22. I believe it has a gasket on the lid for a seal. No metal latches etc....but it does appear to be a decent box as a stand alone but for me I can't see buying a non modular unit even though it does look like a quality box that will keep my expensive tools dry and dust free. Still feel a little deflated Milwaukee !
  23. Welcome aboard Baza! Huge Festool and Milwaukee fan. I have the TS55REQ track saw and absolutely love it. I've read a lot of good reviews for the Makita and the Dewalt too.
