  1. That is an awesome point of view and really hits the nail on the head while acknowledging the repercussions of failure to take precautions. A couple of years ago, this chowder head from Mass walks up to me, while I'm involved in a conversation as asks me... "hey, troopah. I don't got to wear a seatbelt in New Hampshuh right" In typical Chris fashion I retorted "no sir. If you want to smash your face all over your windshield and make me help you pay for your medical recovery....knock yourself out" What a putz. At least he didn't file a complaint.
  2. To be fair any 10" 5/8" arbor (and several stacked dados) work with the Sawstop (including Forrest and Tenyru). Everything else....c'est la vie, the guy is a typical money sponge. Which I am ALL for capitalism, it's what founded this great country, you know, after we took it from its rightful owners. But....using the law to make companies submit to your business is b.s.
  3. White oak is traditionally a very hard wood to plane. Couple that with a tool that is meant to trim doors and the like and you are going to chop that oak up big time. You can try taking the smallest amount possible and using overlapping angles of attack but maybe go to Woodcraft and by a hand plane. The No 4-1/2 is a great finishe plane but Stanley makes a phenomenal low angle jack plane for about 140ish bucks tht will allow you to get a smooth finish. For rough stock go with a larger plane and use the 4-1/2 for finish or go with the low angle jack for it all.
  4. Is number 4 a planer in 12v?
  5. Suh....freakin'....weet!
  6. Well regardless, I love my Sawstop. It's a quality built machine with exact tolerances and it might save my hand from some bonehead mistake. Our legal and patent system is a joke through civil litigation. Bosch never should have been thrown out of the USA. It's an entirely different operating system and shame on our system for failing to see this.
  7. Have to agree with @Gnomish Delight in that Milwaukee has a wonderful, nay, unbelievable warranty. Problem with my experience I've had to use it several times and I even sold a brand spanking new Milwaukee tool to a forum member that immediately went t1ts up resulting in a warranty claim. The truth is, we do live in a toss away world. Having a mixed bag for DIYers and pros alike is the name of the game now. Naturally, being a snob the lion share of my cordless and corded tools are made in Germany with only one issue to date, (one of my tracks for my HKC broke) but God knows I pay for them. Going back to the original posting, Dewalt makes awesome tools. I have a bunch of 20v and a few Flexvolt tools and they are great. I use Makita too and LOVE every one of those tools. Milwaukee has the broadest range of tools and a member eluded to liking the colors of certain brands....for the most part I think that about sums it up. What is your favorite color. Personally I like brunettes but...
  8. I've never used it but I've never heard anything bad about the corded one. I have a Festool TS55 REQ and the HKC55 so I'm all set with track saws.
  9. Great write up dude. Glad you love the new saw too.
  10. Same here. Lumber is sitting outside getting weathered and more dry but I've got a tail vise in the box in the shop for it. I'll get a face vise soon but....
  11. Either one bro, red, yellow, blue, teal.... also welcome to the forums.
  12. I'm not sure if the base you saw has will accommodate the Rikon one, I have that and it's awesome. Wheels are on the base plus a little trailer hitch thing that allows for a wheeled handle to lift and tilt. Super maneuverable.
  13. The fence slides on the base rail so you can stand it on end as shown or so the flat is down exposing a low height fence for close work by the bearings. It's a nice tall fence for veneering. Mine is quite a bit shorter than that one.
  14. Nice bro, I've got the 325. It's fantastic. I'm thinking about buying the upgrade kit they are selling for the step up blade guide and bushings. I like the new fence on yours, a lot taller than mine,
  15. This is pretty cool. Love to see mean green head over this way in strength too.
  16. I'm going to have to admit I've switched whatever I can in the shop to posis and use all my centrotec and Wiha bits to accomplish all my driving. Of course I spent a butt load on my Centrotec installers set but it's hands down the best kit I e ever owned. I've had it for over two years and haven't broken a tip yet. Having said that, I bought two second gen Milwaukee sets for general use and they seem pretty decent. I hardly ever use my older Dewalt black oxides, they break all the time.
  17. Welcome to the forums Chris! Glad to have you here sir🤙

As I wrote that you have to think costs too. If it costs too much good bye profit. Just my two cents dude.
