meanwhile you can by the adaptor and the 18V gun
of course does not make sense from investment point of view if the 20v max gun only has several weeks/ fewmonths release date
my unofficial sources however say will take till mid 2016
so buying the two item now makes sense

just found it on Dewalt web site (wow, a post on a Sunday)
from a quick glance what is new:
- 3 speed
- 2mm shorter than dcf886
available as bare tool and kit
cited from the Dewalt web site:
- DEWALT built brushless motor and XR Lith-Ion batteries deliver more run time and capacity over standard units
- 3-speed settings for optimized application versatility
- Precision Drive in speed 1 for precision applications and added control
- Three (3) LED lights with 20 second delay after trigger release, provide visibility without shadows
- One-handed loading 1/4" hex chuck with easy grip sleeve accepts 1" bit tips
- Compact and lightweight design to fit into tight areas (2 mm shorter than the previous DCF886)

Hi
topic says it all !
I have a cordless dewalt joiner DW932 (almost new, seldom used) with housing for 18v stem batteries
I was wondering if I can convert the tool to a XR battery housing ?
e.g. using the housing of a dcg412 grinder
I think this was done before, but I lost track/ never followed up;
Any EXPERIANCE / tips or tricks
This would be a great tool , as Dewalt does not make this
thx
for help & hints
