  1. I don't carry the m18 in my daily truck. I really don't want to carry 2 battery platforms on me at all times. But I was looking at fuel sawZall this week.
  2. I have always been happy with the Dewalt sawzall. I also have a milwaukee m18 brushed sawzall, but I prefer the dewAlt over the milwaukee. I do not carry the m18 tools in my truck.
  3. After a few years of abuse (3yr) my 20v sawzall died on me yesterday. the day before it was abused to the point it was red hot. today the battery seemed loose and would only work while holding the battery. Next i got a electrical smell and it stopped working. havent had time to take it apart and see if i can find the issue. I am happy with all my dewalt tools, just wish they had a brushless saw to replace this one. I am commited to yellow and black due to the number of tools and batteries i own. Question is- should i buy another premium 20v reciprocating saw or the stubby recip (never used one) any chance of a new sawzall coming out any time soon? if so i will buy a cheap used or refurb one to hold me over until it is availible. I am a commercial GC and electrician. I use and abuse my 20v sawzall daily.
  4. The knife has a nice feel, but I don't like how the blade doesn't stick out as far as my utility knife.

Update. This gun is amazing. So happy I pulled the trigger on this one. No batteries to charge and shoots quickly. Also the skinny nose can get in hard to reach places.
  6. I have a Dewalt 20v and a milwaukee brushed sawzall. The milwaukee is powerful but harder to control speed. I'm not a huge fan. One of my guys burnt his milwaukee sawzall up a few weeks after getting it. I never used a fuel sawzall. But it has to be better then the brushed version.
  7. i use a redmax Ebz 8050. I notcied it is what all the local landscapers use in my area. I went with the larger one to handle dry snow. It is a beast and works great with leaf clean up and for clearing the driveway and walks when there is only a few inches of snow.
  8. For my small portable compressor I have a porter cable pancake compressor. I got it at hd years ago with two guns. It has seen some abuse, and still works perfectly
  9. I have a Pam tite gun, I use it all the time. i have 2 different sticks that have different working time. It is a great tool. I use it in conjunction with construction adhesive. Save the need for clamps. http://pamfast.com/index.php/news/unique_pamtite_hot_melt_adhesive_from_pam_fastening/
  10. yes 5/8" rock. 20 gauge metal studs. using sharp point fine thread 1 1/4 screws. I only do commercial and industrial projects. typically we use 20gauge metal. sometime 16 or 18 gauge in some applications. I will be interested in seeing how the gun works on 16gauge with self tapping screws put a 5.0 AH battery in this morning. I have a feeling i could rock all day without swaping batteries. All my guys love it, i dont see myself using a corded version again.

I went ahead and bought this gun. So far I like it much better the the pasload trackfast guns. Lighter, better feel, no batteries to chArge and its a hilti. Only downside is it doesn't take trackfast nails which I can buy locally i had to order nails from hilti. I found some on eBay that I will probably order to save some cash.
  12. I've been using the gun for the past 2 days. Still framing, but have thrown a bunch of boards up already. The gun works great. Seems allost as fast as a corded drywall gun. It doesn't sound very powerful but it drives screws quickly. Even with the motor running you can still hear everything around you. Big plus compared to my corded guns. I havent had a true test of the battery life, but so far they seem to be lasting for a while. I would bet with a 4.0 you could hang 25+ 5/8 10' 16" o.c.
  13. Just picked up the kit at hd for $199. Getting 130 5/8x10' delivered tomorrow. Excited to see how it works in 16ga and 20ga studs
  14. some good deals there. i have a honda eu2000, it is great but pricey. I dont know anyone who uses the ryobi one, but im sure it is good for the price.
  15. i have a kobalt one. If i where to buy another, i would get the wheelbarrow style. Mine stands too tall. It is designed to dump into a wheelbarrow. I typicall use it to fill in trenches we saw cut in slabs.
  16. i have a corded fein multimaster that i use often when installing cabinets. usually for plunge cutting holes for outlets. They are also great for cutting jams if you are installing flooring. They are handy, but most cutting applications you can use a jig saw or a sawzall. It is easier to control but tends to burn wood or mdf.
  17. I use a hilti awr3000 for any large amount of concrete I use my bosch 11316 for most small concrete demo applications. Although it is impressive the power it has. Along with my ground rod attachment, i have a clay spade, a tamper attachment, a floor scraper attachment, and a bunch of chisels and point bits. Don't know how I ever worked without it. I have a hilti te16 for drilling small holes. I use my handheld coring drill or my drill press mounted coring rig for any holes larger the 1 1/8" To answer your question. If I was to buy one, it would be the bosch demo hammer Rent a jack hammer when the projects is to big for the demo hammer. I/ my guys are hard on my bosch and 3yrs later, I have not had a single problem. I would buy another in a heartbeat.
  18. I use a bosch 11316Eva and an sds Max ground rod attachment. Makes driving ground rods a breeze. I bought it to install some ground rods in a lab where swinging a hammer wasn't an option. Since then it is just another great attachment to my demo hammer. Even if you hit roots or thin rock it will blast right through.
  19. Thanks for the responses 18-22 sheets off a 2.0ah battery is great. Looks like the best deal is to buy the bare tool and 2-5.0ah batteries. About $275 total I would love the extra charger and bag though.
  20. What is your cost for a kit with 5.0ah batteries.
  21. Have any professional's used the cordless 20v drywall gun? I read somewhere they claim 58 boards on 1- 4.0 battery. If it is half that I will be more then happy. I have a bunch of large projects where we will be installing large qty of drywall In house, and feel it is time to get one of these. I will be buying one or two in the next two weeks. Trying to find a deal on a 4.0 or 5.0 kit. I need some more batteries and another charger would be nice. When I played with one at HD it had the typical comfortable 20v grip. I did find that the long belt clip was hitting my fingers, but I will adjust once using it in the field.
  22. I have that bosch sander and it is a great little sander. I have A 10" hitachi sliding liter saw that I have had for years and it is a nice tool. I'm not a fan of rigid power tools I use a Dewalt dw364 and love it. I also have a older porter cable saw a soil worn drive that is a beast. If I were to buy another corded circular saw I would get a other dewAlt dw364 or a makita. I have seen a lot of guys using those for years.
  23. The finish nailer is nice I like the rapid fire. I will end up buying one. I was hoping for a brushless circular or sawzall.
  24. Yes that is appealing. And looks as if it will fit in tight spaces. Only thing I see as an issue, you can't easily carry extra cool nails in your tool belt. I Can keep a few extra clips In my tool belt. Which is handy
  25. No favorite brand for me. I have mostly Dewalt cordless tools and some milwaukee Love my hilti concrete tools- sds, core drill, jack hammer
