  1. I use bostich 28degree guns. I have 2 of them they work great and they are quick to repair. I don't do a ton of framing but when I pull them out they always work great. I always liked the compact size of the coil framers but never used one. Hitachi makes great tools. I have a 15 degree finish nailer and pin nailer that I am a big fan of.
  2. Thanks for the pic. That is pretty cool. I use all thread often, but not enough to justify buying one.
  3. Pics of the threaded rod cutter???
  4. I don't see any new tools on their fb page???
  5. I have 2 dewalt 20v Ac/DC vacuums. They are plenty powerful and last forever with a 4.0ah battery. The cord is nice in a pinch, but I barely ever use the cord. I have heard the milwaukee is very powerful, but the battery doesn't last too long

    HD ADD

i was there over the weekend picked up the bosch spade bit set. No other deals got my attention
  7. My magnetic jamber set showed up yesterday. Looking forward to getting some good use out of these.
  8. most of my work is for medical offices. I am always stuck with difficult deadlines that result in me working 6am-10pm day after day. I also take on jobs where I start Friday night at 5 and the jobs have to be complete by Monday morning when the staff arrives. It is always difficult coordinating all the trades to work at odd times on weekends but the jobs always get done on time without sacrificing quality. It does wear out my staff and myself as we typically go back to other jobs come monday morning. The guys love the OT and I enjoy the work but my wife has had enough of me not being around on the weekends. Good to hear you are rewarding yourself with time off. That is something I have yet to master And when I do take off my phone still rings all day. Enjoy your trip.

    Hilti Gx120

Anyone have experience using one of these? I have been using hilti dx351 and I have 2 track fast nailers. The hilti dx351 always works and has never let me down. The track fast guns are amazing when they work, but I seem to have issues with them often I spend more time trouble shooting the problems then I do using them. I have been eagerly awaiting dewalt to release a 20v style track fast gun. But I doubt that will happen soon. I recently was approached to buy a hilti gx120 that is lightly used. I was hesitant because my issues with the track fast. But I read the gx120 doesn't have a battery. How does it fire with no battery to create a spark or for a fan? Anyone use one? Thoughts? I love all my hilti tools, but the price usually keeps me from buying them.
  10. I use this one. Cheap works great on metal studs or finds nails with wood studs. I have bought a few of these. And I am happy with them. CH Hanson 03040 Magnetic Stud Finder
  11. I was at my Home Depot today and they had one on display. Of course the tip was missing so I couldn't try it. But felt comfortable and powerful. I will pick one up next time I have a decent amount of board to hang.
  12. Got some good stuff there. I am a big fan of klein screwdrivers pliers and strippers The klein armor cable cutter(rotosplit) will not hold up long.

  14. I have been wanting a set of these. I use the true blue empires now, and never liked the beveled edge. They are accurate and have a strong magnet. I will be picking up a 78" stabila in the future.

    Sprinter?

Not sure where to post this. But these are my mobile tool boxes. I currently have 3 trucks and a few trailers 09 gmc 3500 ext cab srw utility body 4x4 09 gmc 1500 ext Cab 4x4 07 tundra ext can 4x4 12' dump trailer 16' enclosed trailer I have been thinking of adding a sprinter to my fleet, and was wondering if any contractors on here are using one, I have been looking at 2 different ones A 2500 140" wb van with shelving 3500 drw cut away with a service body on it. Both are 2015 with the 4cy and 7sp trans. I want a van to help keep material dry and help stock tools and supplies on the job. The sprinters caught my eye because of the mpg and the tall back. If you have one, how do you like it?
  16. i use my tools daily, and they get a lot of abuse. I have been impressed with the batteries and the impacts the most. i have been using dewalts 20v max tools for the past few years. although i often find myself wishing i went with Milwaukee. At the time when i bought my first 20v tool, the tools felt better and performed well. I am envious of all the m18 tools available, but when i look at what else i would buy if i went to m18 there isnt anything and they all cost more then i pay for my dewalt stuff. The warranty and repair service is better with milwaulkee from what i have seen with some of my employees. i have 8- batteries- (4-4AH, 2-3AH, 2-1.5AH my original 3ah are still good almost 3yrs later 2-brushless impacts (my go to is the one with the push button to remove the tip) this is the most comfortable impact i have ever used. 1-brushless hammer drill/driver 2- AC/DC vacuums 1-6 1/2" circ 1-sawzall 1-flash light 1-jobsite radio/charger issues i have had 1-vacuum motor died - repaired for free 1-chuck broke on original non brushless hammer drill/driver-- would nt replace or fix (in my tool graveyard) 1- charger died - replaced for free 1- radio voliume knob broke- repaired for free when tools do need repaired, i have to pay to ship them, and it oftens takes weeks to recieve repaired tools. Milwaukee pays to ship them back, and has them back to you in a week.
  17. I have been using these for a few years now. They are my go to air hose. I just recently picked up another 50 footer. They work great in the cold and they are always easy to coil up for storage. I liked it so much I bought a flexzills garden hose last year.
  18. I have been using my PLS-4 for a few years now. It is versitle, durable and accurate. The plumb point feature is used often. Seems there are a lot more options then when i bought mine, for a lot less money. But, i would buy another one in a second.
  19. You cant go wrong with the Bosch SDS. I have have 2 bulldogs with 1000's of holes and still wont die. I now have a hilti so the bosch's dont see much action.
