  1. I have the M12 Fuel Hackzall too. It's a great little saw
  2. I was doing a little yard work today. I decided to cut back some azaleas. The first thought I had was I better go grab my sawzall. My dad and grandpa were plumbers and I grew up using a sawzall. I guess I learned then how valuable a Sawzall can be. I've owned the following ones in the last couple years: 6538 - 15A Super Sawzall. Great saw but a little on the heavy side. 6519 - 12A Sawzall. My favorite corded Sawzall. 2720 - Fuel Cordless Sawzall. I can't say enough good about this tool. It's awesome. I did purchase a DeWalt DCS 387 compact recip saw last year. I never made a cut with it. I only unboxed it and test run the motor. When I felt how much vibration that little saw has I decided to return it. I picked up the Fuel Sawzall and I'm glad I did. Do you have any pictures or videos of your Sawzall? Do you have any Sawzall stories or just want to talk about them? If so feel free to post it here. Here is a quick video I shot this morning. https://youtu.be/5VMartuQYdI
  3. If you do decide on going with the 2630 look around a little. Some Home Depot locations have them on clearance.
  4. I went with the 2731 just so I could use the 7 1/4" blades I already have. I haven't had a chance to use it much but I'm really liking it so far.
  5. Congrats. Makita has a great assortment of tools to choose from.
  6. I had the Dewalt 12v Drill, Impact, and Screwdriver. I don't know that I would call them a P.O.S., But there is a HUGE difference when you step up to the Milwaukee Fuel line. I think of them as very light duty. The thing is DeWalt can do much better. They are just choosing not to right now.
  7. Thanks, but there are a lot better than me. Classifications start at D then C, B, A, Master, and Grand Master. I'm an A class in limited and a B class in single stack and production divisions. It's a lot of fun. I've been remodeling our house and haven't had a lot of time for it recently. I plan to start back soon. Here are a couple videos from a camera mounted on my safety glasses. It's a little more interesting to see from my perspective. This is a 9mm limited gun. http://youtu.be/s1EHyXuvZlY This is a 45 cal 1911 in Single Stack division. http://youtu.be/rtt7ZR1WSiU
  8. I agree it is a little hard to type in periscope. It's cool to see Dan is into guns as well. I've always enjoyed shooting. I started competing about 4 or 5 years ago. It's a blast.
  9. Here a picture of the one I had. I was able to sell it and I picked up a great deal on a 2654 kit with two batteries. I really like the 2763 and I would like to have another one. The 2654 is just a better fit for me right now. I didn't buy the 2763 new. I found a really good deal on it used. I was able to sell it and get my money back. So I got to try out one for a while without costing me anything. If I had plenty of money I would have every fuel tool offered. Until that happens I have to pick and choose. A note about the 2654. It's a nice light weight impact. I was able to remove lug nuts from my enclosed trailer in mode 2. In mode 3 the impact will spin them off with authority.
  10. I've had heated gear for motorcycle riding for 15 or 16 years. I have found a close fitting vest feels the warmest. I also have the hoodie. It's not overly warm. I'm glad to see Milwaukee is coming out with a vest this year. Then you can choose what outer jacket to wear and layer up.
  11. I agree DeWalt should step up with a brushless 12v line and brushless 20v saws
  12. I see a new thread coming. Checkout what I picked up at the Makita event.
  13. I put my money into the Milwaukee platform. 12v and 18v. I haven't been disappointed. I do see a few things like the DeWalt blowers and trimmers that are tempting.
  14. That's not an easy question. The problem is any answer you get to that question is going to be subjective.I currently own tools from each of the brands you listed. They all make great tools. It would help to list the tools you plan to purchase and which are most important to you. If you are looking for the best recip saw then Milwaukee is the way to go. If you are looking for a battery powered nail gun DeWalt is the only option. The best multi tool is the Bosch in my opinion. I have owned Bosch, DeWalt, Milwaukee, and Makita cordless tools. I have sold off the others and stuck with Milwaukee for cordless tools. I'm really impressed with the fuel line. Ridgid is the line listed that I would consider to be designed and marketed to homeowner and DIYers. Ridgid does make some pretty good tools though. There is no reason a professional contractor couldn't use them.
  15. I like my Milwaukee M12 Fuel screwdriver. Not sure if you are wanting something smaller but the M12 fuel is an awesome screwdriver.
  16. I hear you. I'm not a tradie either, but I find myself reaching for the sawzall pretty often. It could have something to do with growing up with a dad and grandpa that were plumbers. They had me running one when I was 8 or 10 years old. It just seems natural to grab one now. Sawzall, Hole Hawg, and a Ramset Rotary hammer are the main tools I remember using with them plumbing.
  17. Nice score. I've never had much luck finding decent tools at yard sales. Scored a decent Ryobi scroll saw at one five or six years ago. I do pretty good at pawn shops, eBay, and Craigslist. Seems like its just old junk when I see tools at yard sales.
  18. Congrats. Have you tried out a Fuel Sawzall yet? It's one of my favorite 18v tools.
  19. Cool tool. Is that a 5 or 6"? Welcome to the forums.
  20. Welcome. TIA is a great community to be a part of. I live in NC also. (Piedmont Triad area)
  21. I never piled my DeWalt stuff into one pile. This is what I got rid of when I switched over. Also had a 20v Circ saw, 18v Circ saw, 18v drill, and 18v light not pictured.
  22. I love the power delivery on the Ducati and KTM V twins. They pull hard right off the bottom. That is one thing I like so much about the KTM 950 supermoto. It will consistently carry the front tire in 3rd gear accelerating. Found a pic of the supermoto and a couple of my 1150GS (the black one)
  23. Cool. Have you ever tried an ego? I'm really curious how they compare.
