  1. Don't be surprised if your M18 impact collects some dust when you get the M12. I have the fuel hackzall. It's a handy tool and would be really handy cutting conduit. I don't think you will be disappointed with deciding on the impact deal, but I do think the screwdriver is tailored to the work you listed. The screwdriver is really just a 2403 with a hex adapter instead of the chuck.
  2. LOL. 4 replies in the time I was typing. TIA rocks.
  3. I have both. I bought the screwdriver for exactly what you are talking about. I was putting new cabinets in my house and wanted to upgrade my old 12v DeWalt screwdriver. At least that was the reason I gave myself to feed my tool addiction. If I was walking to my tool box to get one of the tools to do the work you are talking about, I would pickup the screwdriver. It is awesome for that kind of work. You can switch between drill mode and screw clutch mode without changing the torque setting. It's easier to change bits on the screwdriver than the impact. However the impact will work for what you are talking about. Thanks to the 2 power settings it's pretty easy to control even with delicate screws. I'm glad to have both, but I do feel the screwdriver is the better tool for the list you provided. Do you already have an 18v impact? I replaced my DeWalt DCF 886 with the 2453 Fuel impact. I have yet to see a place where I would need more torque while using a 1/4" hex bit. The M12 impact will snap bits off. I went with a 3/8" drive M18 impact.
  4. I think most of the clipped head nails have been replaced by offset full head. They work in the 30 deg nailer. There are only 3 basic types of nails to choose from in the framing nailers. (Not including coil nailers) 21 deg. Plastic collated 28 deg Wire Weld 30 deg Paper collated I have two bostitch nailers. One takes the plastic collated and the other is a wire weld. Both are the low profile model. I'm not a fan of the bigger bostitch nailer. Here is my opinion of the differences. The benefit of the 28 and 30 deg offset nailers is the magazine holds a lot more nails. Each strip you load holds more. They are easier to keep in a nail apron. No little bits of plastic to clean up when you finish like the plastic collated. I think the wire weld nails strips are a little more sturdy and are not affected by heat and water. The only draw back to them is they are a bostitch exclusive. The benefits of the 21 deg is the nails strips are a lot less likely to get damaged. Better selection of nails. You can even get plastic collated deck screws. I started with a paper collated nailer. I replaced it with the wire weld nailer. Last year I found a deal on some stainless plastic collated nails. I bought the second nailer just to use them. But it is nice to have more options when I go buy nails. I would say you would be happy with the plastic collated nailer. Just be aware that it leaves behind little pieces of plastic and each strip holds fewer nails.
  5. LOL! It sometimes takes a little creative thinking to come up with a reason to justify a purchase. That's a cool looking impact wrench. You'll have to let us know how you like it. I feel your pain though. It always seems like it takes forever. It reminds me of being in school waiting on the 3pm bell.
  6. That sucks. Unless you are selling the pipe. LOL! Seriously how is that fair. Does the code also require color coded copper?
  7. It seems to me you would end up with a lot more scraps by using the color coded. Instead of just having 1/2" and 3/4" pipe you would have 1/2" red, 1/2" blue, 3/4" red, and 3/4" blue. I just used white pipe. It's not that hard to keep track of which line is hot.
  8. One thing to consider is the fuel sawzall comes with a really well laid out case.
  9. Greenlee makes an adapter. http://www.amazon.com/Greenlee-EAC18120-120-Volt-Adapter-Cordless/dp/B004I0Q5PC This looks like it's interchangeable with makita batteries.
  10. Dang that would seriously have to be a $25-30k box. I couldn't imagine buying one of those new. I have two snap on boxes now. One is a little one that I bought a deal on used. I paid about the same as you could go buy a craftsman or kobalt for. The other one is a KRL series like in the pics, but just a 12 drawer base. I traded for it and don't have a lot invested. I really like both of them but I wouldn't even consider buying one new. Way too much money.
  11. Here is a little Monday Milwaukee tool porn.
  12. Back when I was plumbing we probably kept a dozen pipe wrenches on the truck at any time. The one I would pick up 9 times out of 10 was an aluminum 18" ridgid. I loved using the aluminum ones. We had one Aluminum 48" we called Big Bertha. I needed a couple pipe wrenches recently. I stopped by harbor freight and picked up two 18"s for $7.99 each. They worked for what I needed but they are far from the quality of the ridgid wrenches Ive used before. The biggest difference is how well the teeth bite into the pipe. You have to fiddle with the harbor freight ones to get the teeth to hold. If I used them much I would get some Ridgid Aluminum pipe wrenches. The new Milwaukee cheater looks interesting also.
  13. Congrats! Let us know what you think about it. I saw them still marked at $99 dollars at my local HD today.
  14. I looked at the colt at Lowes today. It looks really nice. I was very tempted to pick it up. Maybe I need to get a second job just to fund my tool addition. LOL! Thanks for the tip about the variable speed. That would be really nice to have.
  15. He did. Said several had already broke tonight on periscope.
  16. LOL. We are crazy, but apparently not as crazy as Home Depot employees.
  17. Welcome to the forums. This is a great community. Do you like cordless saws like Dexter? Sorry I couldn't help it. I've had Netflix on too much.
  18. That's how lines like Ryobi, Black and Decker, etc stay in business. They build tools to a price point. I hear you though. I can't always justify spending the money for a premium tool. Sometimes I even buy stuff from harbor freight, but I consider the stuff disposable.
  19. This looks a lot like my Milwaukee 2712 https://aegpowertools.com.au/products/rotary-hammer-drill/18v-rotary-hammer-drill
  20. I've been looking at the Colt too. I recently picked up a larger Bosch router and I'm impressed with the quality. It would be nice to have a small router also.
  21. Congratulations!!! Was it an online giveaway?
