  1. from the video it looks to me like the bulls eye already has somewhat of a strobe effect, seeing as it is attached to the chuck.... I was thinking if they could slim it down somehow so it isn't larger than the diameter of the drill itself (the original seems to be fairly sized) again it was just a thought and if it is marketed right the epileptic consumers can either switch off the feature or not go for that brand?
  2. well I just watched stumpy nubs videos on his sled and I must say I see a lot of good ideas here and im really itching to make a sled now. I don't think the fence would ever really be used if I combined the ideas from both sleds! imagine the possibilities!
  3. I like the holster as well though, for the most part the tool is easily accessible in the holster and can be mounted almost anywhereSent from my B15 using Tapatalk
  4. looks pretty sweet! bosch has gone far and above in the likes of charging batteries and I only wish that Milwaukee comes out with the same, and Makita as well. this is a game changer for most contractors that don't always have access to an outlet or want to give a quick charge on the road between jobs.
  5. I have this same kit and yes it stays in my truck mostly because I also keep the jobmax there too and they feed the same batteries so its smart. I would much rather use my Bosch 12v but I keep my m18's for the job site ..... All in all for the price point this ridgid set works really well and will work for just about everything. Only downside is its a very long set. Meaning tight spaces may be tricky Sent from my B15 using Tapatalk
  6. Thanks for the feedback WigWag and RC, I'll have to check out stumpys sled before I build one. Sent from my B15 using Tapatalk
  7. I was wanting to make a really nice one once I got a new table saw. I'm waiting for a nice side job to pay for a ridgid 10" cast iron table saw so I can start adding around that. I'd build a sled, router table insert. And an outfeed table. Sent from my B15 using Tapatalk
  8. Lately I've been watching alot of youtubers? Doing woodworking and alot of them have a crosscut sled that they use regularly and I'm just wondering if they really make all the effort to make one worth it? One of which I'm interested in making is similar to "Nick Ferry's" it have T tracks and a triangular 45 degree insert. The cooler part is how he added the adhesive tape measure on the sled itself for quicker stop block referencing. Sent from my B15 using Tapatalk
  9. Interesting proposal.... It would be sweet if it works sorry I can't offer any help Sent from my B15 using Tapatalk
  10. if any manufacturer could integrate that bullseye thing into the chuck it would be pretty sweet. especially if you could have a button to turn it on/off for situations where it really isn't needed. as for the XPS light its hard to say where it was missed, the mitre saw is the easiest way to apply it. I mean I could say table saw, router, and circular saw but those would be somewhat unrealistic and probably over board.
  11. Just bought the corded Porter cable last night and I'll be testing it out tonight. I've only used the jobmax so that's how I will compare it. I know its not top of the line but it was on sale for $90 from $150 Sent from my B15 using Tapatalk
  12. cant see myself spending that much on a jigsaw... I mean the amount I use it is minimal right now, plus I can get away with a cheaper model that is still really top of the line. im trying to spend a budget wisely... and you guys make it so difficult....
  13. Ihave the corded model too, a hand-me-down from years back, and you're right about how well it works, I just don't like busting out the cord all over the shop or jobsite if I don't have to. especially when it takes just as much time getting it out of the box and back into the box as it does using the thing most times so depending on the size of the project I would have an option for both.
  14. do you have any corded planers? which ones and how do they compare? im actually looking at getting this exact model so any feedback on comparisons would do me a world of good
  15. well being from Ontario you have similar issues with having a lot of big stores close to you. I found atlas machinery (a member passed this info to me) has a lot of branded tools for a decent price. but Makita has a warehouse in Ontario that sells referb stuff.
  16. Thanks all for the feedback! One thing that bums me out is that they don't normally have fuel gauges on them to see how much juice ya got left. (The batteries I mean) I heard they are starting to release them? Are those just with kits or? The biggest plus is that it's a 22 minute charge. Sent from my B15 using Tapatalk
  17. I'm just now opening my eyes to the vast expanse that is makita. And really think that for a woodshop they have the best cordless line. I have the corded versions of all those tools mentioned above, I got them used but they work great. So I'm looking for a secondary quick option to have as a fast go to with good results. Or an on the go solution. Sent from my B15 using Tapatalk
  18. Been online looking at tools for future purchases and everything. Came across more makita tools than I remember ever seeing from them and got to thinking about turning the shop into a makita/Bosch mix. I like the idea of certain tools being cordless because you don't use them overly often but you don't want to mess around with a cord when you want to use them so. Let's hear your thoughts for their plate jointer, sander and barrel grip jigsaw all cordless 18v tools. There's a few more I would consider getting in the future. But these are my basic ones I'd get sooner. Sent from my B15 using Tapatalk
  19. nice set up, love those trucks. hard to find for sale because everyone who has them want to keep them. that model of quadrasteer makes the truck look so much more heavy duty and aggressive. great stuff!
  20. been using these a lot the past week and I love them both, im really happy I went with this set, I will be buying the PS41 ? I think that's the number, its the hex shank drill driver (similar size to the impact) anyways been using these for setting screws into cabinets and making pocket holes. loving them. haven't used the M12's but I have the ridgids and I must say the bosch has that little extra... the ridgids have more torque but are bigger... so I will use the combo of them all for around the house or on the job.
  21. I thought ive seen one of them before.... thing is they did at one point but they stopped making it (probably because everyone said they were shit lol) love the looks of that one though. they have never made brad nailers to my knowledge. nice find though!
  22. Well I don't have that one but I saw it beside a dewalt in Lowes and they looked very similar but up here it was only $150 instead of like $180 or $200 I think for the dewalt Sent from my B15 using Tapatalk
  23. ive actually been looking at the porter cable one... just as a wrench in the game
  24. natural looks great anyways. I love the look of cherry or a red-ish stain. everyone has their own preference and yours worked well!
  25. I don't normally use dadoes... I usually use pocket holes when I can, or I just counter sink screws and let them show (only for my own projects) any stain or just natural?
