Good Day Crew!
Was surprised to see this banner on the workbench when I went down to the workshop. Not sure where she scored it from, but its going to look nice hanging on the workshop wall. Also, to add to that awesome banner, she ordered me the DeWalt 168 Piece Mechanics Set (DWMT73803) Dan and Eric reviewed on TIA.

If there was a drawing for a prize, and there was only 2 entries, I would lose.

Some Good News Folks!
He's once again coming home, my suspicions were right, he was doing to much to soon. It's hard for him to sit and do nothing, has he would rather be in the workshop with me working on his walking sticks.
Thank you again to everyone for the well wishes and prayers,
Steven and Brandon

Looking great! Don't think I ever seen speakers made out of zebra wood before. Standing by for the next update.

Oh Yeah! Looking Aces! I found out that although I live in the suberb , my area is still zoned to allow animals like pigs and chickens has parts of it are still considered rural. I been joking with the wife, that I want to get some chickens.

Bad news folks!
Brandon was just readmitted to the hospital, he went to the doctors for a follow-up, and they immediately sent him to the ER. I have a feeling that he was pushing himself to hard before he was fully healed, but he's a teenager and we all know that teenagers possess super powers lol.
Will keep you folks updated,

Thank really sucks bud, glad everyone is alright. Does anyone know or heard if this can happen with an electric dryer? I remember seeing PSA's all the time about dryer fires from our local gas company, so I am assuming this might be a common occurrence.

sanding is a pain in the ass that is very necessary, it will only look as good as the prep work, Staining should be a piece of cake after the sanding.
Honestly never understood why so many woodworkers hate the sanding process so much LOL. I guess I must be crazy, it's one of my favorite things about woodworking, it's one of the most satisfying feeling of accomplishment after its done.

By choice - 3 -12 hour days - Friday, Saturday, and Sunday 9am to 9pm- I work from home - Friday is project day, Saturday and Sunday mostly on call. Some days are non-stop crazy, others no calls at all. With 6 weeks off a year, and the fact that I absolutely enjoy my job, and work from home, its not like I am actually working.

I thought this video might be helpful for the single guys in the TIA crew - https://youtu.be/_vVV8hRTxgE

Just received the TIA sign from Dan and Eric on a shipping mistake. This sign should have gone to Wig Wag Workshop for generously donating to TIA Patreon. Theirs link below if any else wishes to donate to TIA. Dan and Eric graciously let me keep the sign. Wig Wag Workshop is getting another sign he deserves for helping TIA. But I need the crews help on how should I paint stain maybe epoxy the sign.
I suggest you ship it off to me, so I can sand and finish it... LOL - It's all in good fun. What kind of sanding implements do you have? My suggestion is to start from one end and work top to bottom, don't move all around in different places. Think like how a robot would do it. Start with a course grit in that style, and work through the grits from 80 to 320, till all is smooth. Understand, that this is oak, a very dense wood, and will take some time. I enjoy the sanding process, most wood workers absolutely hate it LOL. I would not suggest messing with epoxy resin, until you have messed around on some test pieces, it can be tricky and mistakes usually can not be redone. For stain, just head to the big box store, and search out a finish color you like. Be sure to look at the samples they show, and look at the oak sample.
Feel free to ping me, if you need any further help and I will be happy to clarify any questions.

That's Awesome! Thank You for sharing, it's really sad that most high schools don't have shop class anymore.

This is the same thing that happened with my DeWalt Yellow box, it said Out of Stock - Discontinued, then a few weeks later I received an email they were back in stock.

I belive Jasonc is correct, will be interested to read what GatorB says.
I think on my DW788 Scroll Saw, the Type -1 (the most desired model) was Made in Canada - and the Type 2 was made elsewhere.

Ave is overrated like festool.
LOL - Thats what I say about the Wood Whisper - Everyone thinks he's gods gift to woodworking. Maybe it's because he was on a cable show.
-
I am a woodworker, and almost died laughing at his comment "If you enjoy manipulating dead tree carcasses, that's fine, just don't ask me to come over and watch gladiator movies" But seriously, Festool is a woodworking "eco-system" like Apple's eco-system is to computers. Yeah, both can be looked at has over priced, but they have excellent customer service, and they are remarkable at what they do. I don't own, or plan on owning any Festool products, has I am a DeWalt guy. However, I know a few folks that are invested in the Festool eco-system, and they swear by them. I have tried them out a few times, and they are a joy to use.

Who needs cable TV, when folks are creating FREE content on YouTube Like this. I am getting more and more amazed by the production quality, and content of the video's that are available.

Awesome, that narrows it down a bit. Not sure I want to invest a ton of money, has it won't get much use. On the other hand, if I do spend the money it will last a lot longer.

It really does not matter how good a deck stain product is, if you don't do the proper prep work before applying. At very least, I think a good pressure wash is a good start. I have helped my brother with his desk many of times, and because of that when we were looking for our first house, I made sure there was not a wood deck LOL. But we do use Behr, and get pretty good results that last a few years before having to do it all again. A key thing I would like to point out, he does absolutely ZERO maintenance to the deck LOL. I tell him it would be a little but easier on us, if you at least pressure washed it at least once a year.
