  1. I saw that Jorgensen was going out of business and it breaks my heart. I really like the cabinet (parallel clamps) clamps. I actually like them better than the Bessey clamps. I need to get out there and buy up what I can.
  2. Its still not working. I can't seem to find a way to get photos to show up. The thumbnail is completely blank.
  3. Ooooo. Huge points there for Cindy. Does she have a sister? LOL Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  4. I'm trying to create a new thread and when I upload the pictures, there is nothing there. Just blank spaces. Bummer
  5. I have the portamate PM1000 mobile base. It has two swivel casters that are activated by a cam lever. I can move it around pretty good, but since the joiner is top heavy and narrow, I tend to take care when moving it. I'll take a picture when I get home.
  6. I'm very interested in seeing where this goes.
  7. Bahahaha! Few Pubes. Bahahahaha! Love that!
  8. Oops. I misunderstood you. I haven't seen that issue. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  9. This is why I like the larger Centipede sawhorse. It supports the long sheets of plywood throughout the length of the wood. Also, to prevent tear out, you can always use some masking or painters tape to cover the line where you are going to cut. This works extremely well to prevent tear out. If I need to make a clean cut on any plywood, I use this trick...even on the tablesaw.
  10. I truely believe in that saying. My fixes aren't always a success, but those are just mistakes that I got out of the way. Did I ever tell you that I got to meet Paul in Vegas? He was really busy, so I only got to say HI and introduce myself.
  11. I don't own a track saw either. I'm using a Bora 100" Clamp Edge Saw Guide for my very large plywood cuts which is held up by a large centipede saw horse setup. http://www.boratool.com/bora-wtx-clamp-edge-saw-guide-100-inch
  12. Hey @rrmccabe Rich, I never told you that I bought some of the plier wire racks and magnetic socket holders for my tool box. I love those things. The save so much room. I don't have any open end or box wrenches in my box, so I didn't purchase one of those organizers. I can't say enough about the wire racks and socket holders though. Perfect. I'm using some kaizen foam in my lathe tool setup. I'll have to take some pictures of those drawers when I get a chance.

    SketchUp?

@rrmccabe is the king of Sketchup. If anyone knows the answers to these, it would be him.
  14. jimbo is absolutely correct. This is the time that I use my right angle drill the most.
  15. If you are just looking to get into a line of tools, then just of your information, Milwaukee has the largest line of 12 volt drills. Also, their 12 volt drills are true 12 volts and not 10.8 that the DeWalt and Bosch lines have. I love my Miwaukee 12 volt hammer drill. I use it a ton. The M18 line has a lot of tools to choose from as well. Makita has the largest 18 volt line of tools. I do love the fact that the Milwaukee charges charge both 12 and 18 volts. Dewalt chargers usually charge both as well, but they have virtually no tools in their 12 volt line. My nod would be for the Milwaukee drill if you are just looking to invest into a line of tools. If not, I would just buy one in the line of tools you already own....or buy the adaptor.

    Wood Porn

I went to this guy yesterday who has a woodmizer and usually has a lot of wood stacked up. I don't know if I would call him a mill, but I go there every few months to pickup some rough cut lumber. I bought some red cedar to build my second chair and a couple pieces of 8/4 Walnut just because it was laying around. Once I got home, I was inspired to clean some boards up from a previous visit to him. I cleaned up a good deal of the spalted maple that I got from him and then two other boards that I wasn't sure what they were. All of the boards look grey and weathered when I get them home and its kinda rough to see what their grains look like and sometimes the condition of the boards can be a bit obscured as well. The last two boards that I did last night, I'm not really sure what they are. I remember picking them up because he said they had some spalted figure in them. These boards are pretty light and the colors are just awesome. Maybe its just me (because I have some color blindness), but the blue and oranges just pop on these boards. I carried them upstairs just to make sure my eyes weren't playing tricks on me. My wife confirmed the board has a lot of blue in it. Now she wants me to make her something with them, but I don't think I have enough to do anything of any significance.
  17. Its my opinion, from being at a couple Milwaukee Media events and looking at them from a woodworkers perspective, Milwaukee doesn't have much interest in anything other than the trades. They deal with plumbers, electricians, drills, recip saws, crimping tools, lights (for contractors), specialty tools and that is about it. I know that they have recently come out with a cordless miter saw, but again, that is meant to a contractor on the go. Their focus is on the contractor and going cordless. If you think about it, they have nothing in the way of a woodworking tool. I know a track saw could be used by contractors, but if you look at it, they don't even have a jobsite saw. I wouldn't be surprised if they came out with a track saw, but if they do, it will be cordless.
  18. No real desire to do that. Too many other projects with a higher priority.
  19. I wanted to share some pictures of a chess board that I made a few years ago. I made the main parts of the board out of Bubinga (my favorite wood) and Maple. Around the edges I through in a Purple heart accent. I added some feet to keep the board very stable. I'm sorry that I don't have a ton of build pictures for this. I think they are on my other computer or backed up on an external hard drive. The best part of this build, I have taught both of my kids how to play chess on it and they like trying to beat the old man. I'm hoping this will continue down the family line for a while as a heirloom.
  20. I just used a 3/4" auger bit with a Wolfcraft Drill Guide Attachment for the dog holes. I don't think that I need the accuracy of the MFT system, so this worked okay. Its not the best setup for dead nuts straight holes. The attachment has a little movement in it, but not enough to affect the dogs. I love the epoxy. It is a little bit soft, so it can be dented, but the nice thing is, once it gets beat up, I can just sand it and add another coat or two. I needed it to strengthen the plywood. Pulling dogs out can make the dog hole edges snap off. It would have been better to make it out of solid wood and then there wouldn't have been an issue.
  21. Thanks Jimbo. I just went and bought some more cedar last night to build another chair. I got two 12 foot board that are 10 inches wide and two 9 foot board that are 6 inches wide and all of the boards are 5/4 thick. I also added on two pieces of walnut that are 8/4 thick by 18 inches wide and about 20 inches long. All of this cost me just $65. I was one happy camper driving home.
  22. I built my hybrid workbench late fall. I liked the ron paul design, but wanted it smaller, mobile, more permanent and with storage. I've always liked your workbench that you built, so I had to try to make something nearly as nice. Here is the link to the build thread. http://professional-power-tool-guide.com/power-tool-forum/index.php?/topic/10808-hybrid-workbench-build/#comment-146964
  23. Bloody Marys as long as they are made with ZingZang. Then it is Long Island Iced Teas Then Honey flavored whiskey with a little sprite.
  24. That's awesome Rich. Now you have to hook up some good speakers to a receiver that can blast the volume louder than the tools you are using. I can see you watching NASCAR while you are in the shop working.
  25. I'm not sure how I feel about this unit. On one hand, pretty cool being battery operated. On the other hand, I can't imagine it running very long plus it is such a small supply. You can only use small nailers.
