Why do you state that they are yellow top? Does that mean something specific rather than the top just being yellow?

DeWalt uses yellow tops on their batteries to indicate premium or XR and black as regular or entry level.

I enjoyed it too. I remember being super bummed they didn't get a big name for Wolverine 17 years ago. Boy was I stupid.

Fox is horrible with casting for their Marvel movies.... Fantastic Four(either cast) anyone? But I think they nailed it with most of the original X-Men crew most notable Hallie Berrry, Patrick Stewart and Hugh Jackman. Another giant pev I have us the rediculously difficult timelines, you gotta be a Sheldon Copper to understand the quantum mechanics involved.

  3. Ya I saw it, and to be honest I didn't key into what kind of driver he was using, what I did notice was the crazy high body count!!!!  I really got a kick outta the comics and how Logan was making fun of them.  Also it segways into the New Mutants story line should Fox wanna go there.

I paid like 25 bucks for mine, decent sander really

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

was $35 on "sale" there where cheaper ones and more expensive ones.... Realistically it wiggles and shakes there is no real reason to pay a bunch for one.

  5. Well spent some quality time with my 887&886 the past 2 days, I got a wee bit of a project, a doctor's office had some water damage so insurance is paying for a 50% +/- remodel of the place. 3 rooms get top to bottom new "kitchen" cabinets and tops, new floor, trim, and a bathroom.  887 spent most of the time in mode 1 for cabinet and drawer assembly while 886 was doing mounting duty.  Am I too lazy to flick the switch to 2 or 3 on the 887?

Yep! if ya got em use em!

Side note, Ya know its kinda funny when half of the time I go to look for my impact my brother-in-law has it while his GenX 5 is sitting right there.... I mean LITERALLY right next to him while he's using mine!

Hey would ya look at that, did the battery fit right in no trouble?

Had to switch the polarity, slightly widen the blades and remove a dummy blade, and had to remove a bit of plastic on the slide rails.  It was rather easy to do used a soldering iron, needle nose pliers and a utility knife, would have been even easier if I could have found my missing Dremel. I'd say the battery fitment is "near factory" with it being just slightly snug/tight which IMO is desirable as it holds the battery very well.

FlexVolt is a no brainer. You have to work hard to stall the FlexVolt. I can guarantee you'll be able to stall this one, just like the Fuel.

Ya it's kinda dumb to make a 20v version with the FV out there, would have made a lot more sense to update the 6.5 left blade.

  9. I don't mine people borrowing my tools, just so long as they stay within 20' of me and are never outta my sight. But seriously my wife doesn't even touch my tool(s) (pun intended), I bought her her own for around the house.  I remember my old man went through 10 hammer's one year because my brother's and I(4 of us) were dip shits and ever since then it stuck with me to be respectful for others tools and they should respect mine.

That is good news as maybe you are right and it is not far away.  I do hope they go with a different design though.  That thing looks more like a toy than a rugged piece of equipment.  It needs more than just a yellow and black point job. :)

I did see one at Menards and while I didn't spend much time looking at it, it did look well made, the thing I was surprised most about was how close the B&D batteries resemble FV ones, I guess I shouldn't be surprised buy it lol.

Very cool, that's the type of work i grew up on but with a much larger body of water in front of us... Dad built houses along lake Michigan, just him and the crew, my brother and I got immersed in that from early on,

I'm about an hour east of Lake Mi, got a buddy that wanted me to work on a project over there, but I had already committed to this one. it's basically just my brother-in-law and I on the build, ya we call in some help from time to time and have some trades guys in here and there but most of it is the 2 of us.  My old man was a GC and I remember being on a roof with him when I was 6 so.  All my life I've been around building is some shape or form so when I lost my "real" job about 5 years ago(but that's another story) I called an uncle (he's a GC too) and been busy ever since.

  12. Lowe's and Menards are my most commonly shopped stores, I love ACE's reward sales(c'mon like $5 Dewalt bit kits and randomness!), closest HD is about 30 mi so don't get there too often. Online I generally buy on Amazon.

I just wish we knew for sure on whether a mower was coming.  I know there are leaks and rumors but nothing has been confirmed yet.  I actually bought into the 40v stuff but as just a single home owner the Flexvolt may make more sense in the long term since you get the battery synergy.  I doubt the mower would be on the 40v line as that is meant for more professionals who are going to use the bigger mowers anyway but on Flexvolt I could see it working. If not I may just go Ego and keep all my tools on just the 20v platform.

Dewalt's mower can't be too far away....
