I too have a whole mess of them now! I also have 1/2 dozen or so smaller ones I've been using for bits and randomness as well.

a 1/2 in cordless router would need a monster of a cordless motor and battery.

This may be VERY far fetched but a 12 battery flexvolt zero turn mower. 6 for the wheels and 6 for the blades.

It would be Craftsman "powered by DeWalt" lol

Yeah don't believe this guy. I have the 692 with flexvolt batteries and was still having problems with my gun. Might just be my gun so I sent it in for repair and it has been about 3 weeks now with no response from my local dewalt service center. The good thing is my repair will be warrantied so if I have future problems I'm bringing the gun right back.

You did catch my sarcasm at the end right?

Sidchrome seems to be 12v max, looks like rebranded mac/facom

    Glue gun here

Also sure I've seen a rivet gun but can't find it now & have some recollection of a greenlee crimper? That ran on 20v max..

It appears too that they are a SBD brand.... as their email address is @sbdinc.com

    Greenlee seems to use Makita

Doesn't matco also use the same form factor as DeWalt specific batteries, just with their own color and logo (same but different, all SBD...)

I believe they are owned by Danaher not SBD and no their batteries are not compatible.  You might be thinking of Mac which is an SBD brand, I would love a Mac battery ooohhh rubber over mold and fluid resistant

Geez he said he was just getting into woodworking, I'd like to think everyone could start off with Wood Peckers stuff but we don't all have Bill Gates money.

And they must be so new that you can't find them on the website. I did see a cordless sprayer with a different battery when I went looking for about $450. Hopefully the price on this one will be lower.

Next time I see her I will ask, I'm sure they don't stock em but can't hurt to ask.

    Thanks for the responses guys.
I have decided to stick with Dewalt due to the crazy deal I got on the DCK299M2 kit.
I have also decided to return the Angle Grinder kit and ordered the 4Ah-2 pack instead and save around $80. I wanted to order the 2Ah-2 pack but the price was same for both so went with the 4Ah despite the heavier weight.

With my mediocre usage, I don't think I would be able to run out even one 4Ah battery on one tool in a day, but since shipping batteries is such a PITA these days, I decided to take advantage of the fact that my friend is flying down and grab an extra pair of batteries now, even if I don't need them today.

    You have chosen well

Ordered a few accessories for my soon to be delivered Dewalt Combo kit.
Help me choose some layout tools guys as I am new to woodworking, so I can order them together.
Was looking at Swanson speed and combination square kit. Any other essential layout tools that I should have in my arsenal, let me know.

Can't go wrong with a Swanson, they are the one all others are judged by, my personal favorite is Johnson https://www.amazon.com/Johnson-Level-Tool-RAS-1-Aluminum/dp/B00002N5O6/ref=pd_sim_469_3?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=RSKRZTZKNQNFR2942W30 Ace also sells the Craftsman labled version http://www.acehardware.com/product/index.jsp?productId=35554456&cp=2568443.2568450.2628078.2629269

I keep a "back to school" protractor, compass, ruler kit I got at Staples, a decent combo square is a must, I use an older Stanley works fine and don't forget the good ol' "L" carpenter square.

  11. Without taking too much about things I cannot talk about(1st rule of fight club), there might be an initiative where by DeWalt may or may not work with other companies outside SBD to produce items of a non competing nature to be "Powered By DeWalt".  Cough Cough, this is just speculation based on NOTHING AT ALL....
