All of the above applies to me.

Put a FV battery in your 6 1/2. Longer runtime, more power. The same goes for the 20v miter saw. More power, higher RPMs. I don't notice the weight on the circular saw, and it doesn't matter on the SCMS.

I ended up buying a pair of FV batteries for these saws after using the FV battery from my new 60v reciprocating saw.

    Game changer.

Yup that appears to be my only option and was/am planning to get a couple FV batteries for that very reason.  To be honest the DCS391 has always done everything I've asked and I'm very much pleased with it, I just had high hopes that the next 20V saw would be an upgrade to everything I like about it.  I'm more than happy to keep on using it but hey who wouldn't want a shinny new one with the latest tech?

Cr....you know the 20v has blade left ..not brushless..not 7.25...but it's a great saw for any DIY project....just not the power of Flexvolt....

I have it, use it exclusively, not DYI, for a living.... Want brushless runtime, a small bump in power wouldn't hurt my feelings either.  Hate right blade saws.... *If* I need a 7.25 there's a worm drive in the tool trailer but I never need it.

Hitachi even ditched the green color for the chainsaws.  They used to be Hitachi green, now they're orange like every other chainsaw.  Anyway, it's a good saw; not a Stihl, but decent.

Green is actually my favorite color but the way Hitachi molds things into strange organic shrilly messes is horrible.... on the flipside there's Porter Cable's 20v subdued colors and overly Millennium Falcon look that is equally hard too like.  But looks aren't what matter to me(you should see my wife lololol JK).

Suddenly I want a new level:

Actually I was looking at levels, that's how I found this.  But I can't justify why I should want a new one.  I have a perfectly serviceable USA-made Craftsman heavy duty 48" aluminum level, and an American Level 48" model made out of mahogany and brass.  Both of them seem totally accurate, as far as I can tell by casual testing.  The wooden one is a thing of beauty but I rarely use it, because the Craftsman is lighter.

But I might as well ask what kind you guys like.

Been looking at the pick a while and still don't see what your talking about..... (.Y.)

Any known issues with the chuck?

I have no first hand experience with this model however I have the DCD780, DCD985, and DCD791 ALL the chucks work flawlessly, however my uncle has a DCD790 and it won't hold a drill bit for more than a few holes without the bit falling out.

Have your friend run 20-30 holes with it to ensure a good lock on the chuck.

My experience with DeWalt Impacts is nothing but positive going back around 10 years with their first Li-ion 18v model to currently owning 2 DCF887s and a DCF886.....

If you don't mind me asking, are there some known issues on DCD996 and DCF887 that my friend could check for. I don't want him to carry them all the way to India and then they turn out to be a lemon.

There is a known issue with the battery fuel gauges especialy with 2013-2014 versions where the would fail to display the correct charge remaining but the packs still work fine but it appears that is solved, unfortunatly there is no why to know until it happens.

They make a ridiculous number of packs. Compact 1.5, 2.0. XC 3.0, 4.0, 5.0, and ripoff 6.0, and of course the big beast 9.0 lol. Not as many as Dewalt of course but a fair amount.

    Humm let's see, janky 1.3, 1.5, & 3.0, XR 2.0, 4.0, 5.0, & 6.0, and FV 2/6 and 2/9... did I miss any?

They have a small 12v line but never amounted to anything, I think they are a stick pack too but they don't really push them

Agreed...sorry, I'm used to city living, I can't imagine not having 10 Walmarts within 30 mins(probably underestimating). At least you can see stars and hear what nature sounds like :(

I wish! I live in a city, but only have 1 Walmart near by.

I definitely don't see Armstrong getting shut down. Admittedly, I shy away from Armstrong because their ratchets are essentially better-made Craftsman. Their pliers are made by Pro America/Kal, so I might as well just buy Pro America for cheaper.

Allen? Who really cares? They don't make anything but hex keys and a gearless ratchet at this point. I guess the whole "Allen wrench" thing is worth something but to whom? The person that calls it an "Allen wrench" generally doesn't know there's an Allen Tools.

Allen is to hex wrench as Kleenex is to tissue. I imagine the name will always stick regardless.
