  1. How do you organize your shop? Right now I have some Tough System boxes on some wall racks and a few Systainers to organize most of my handheld power tools and hand tools. Everything else is in a couple drawers, hanging on the wall, or on some shelves organized as best I could. It's not much but at least stuff has a place and is easy to find. I try to keep similar items together. Grinding wheels with grinder, bits with drill/impact, batteries with batteries, etc.
  2. My biggest use of a hard toe shoe is the fact I can rest things on my shoe without discomfort. ie a piece of plywood. Protection from falling objects is not that big of a deal to me
  3. I think the brush is around $200. Not sure on the chainsaw. The new nexus is over $1000 A quick search on Home Depot’s website for Ego would give you prices for all the currently available Ego stuff.
  4. I am thinking I would probably go with either the Benchdog cast iron, SawStop cast iron, or Jet cast iron. All have their pros and cons. I am leaning more towards the Benchdog because it includes the correct mounting plate for my specific router. It may not include wheels, an on/off switch, or a lift but I already have a lift kit that is compatible, the wheels shouldn’t be too hard to add, and there are plenty of on/off switches available. The switch should be reasonably easy to install.
  5. I ordered the new m12 installation driver and also ordered a new ice/snow broom/scraper. @fm2176 also the latest Samsungs too. Both brands have $1k+ phones
  6. The nearest woodcraft is 2-3 hours away no idea where the nearest rockler is.

    18v Polisher

Awesome you can sand with it too.
  8. basically a Starlock Max variant and a Starlock Plus variant?
  9. oh looks like the nexus got an upgrade from 2000 watts to 3000 watts and a small price cut.
  10. My Router Raizer arrived today. I wasn't expecting a 50 page manual to come with but it is understandable. It has directions and templates for each compatible router the Router Raizer works with. I don't know when I will get a chance to try it out on my old porter cable router. I hope it does what I want/need it to. I'm not sure how I feel about modifying my router but a regular lift was not compatible with my router.
  11. Barnaby also confirmed a rubber paddle attachment is coming. I might wait until it releases instead of getting the bristle version. I heard the paddle does better in snow than the bristle which is what my intended use would be.
  12. @Framer joe Most of my tools are DeWALT. I maybe have not had the years of experience of using DeWALT as you have but in the short 3 years I have been using the brand I have experienced failed/faulty DeWALT products. I have had a failed 20v omt, 2 failed flexvolt batteries, a fast charger with a bad fan, and an 887 (which has been an awesome tool) that currently has trigger issues. Would I buy DeWALT again? of course. DeWALT is a great brand and so are many other brands. Speaking of video proof, I will pick from one of the channels you listed. In a Tool Box Buzz video on Concord Carpenters channel, a Flexvolt tool lost to both an x2 tool and an M18 tool. I'm not trying to hate on DeWALT, I'm also not trying to put DEWALT higher than other pro tool brands or say their stuff is always at or near the top. DeWALT does have products that fail, that have flaws, or that perform worse... and I could say the same about every other brand. I wish we could go back to the days of being able to joke about MORE POWA without having to talk poorly about other brands.
  13. I run DeWALT 20v max/flexvolt, Ego residential/commercial, m12, and Festool 18v/18vx2. As much as some would like DeWALT to be the best in everything it just isn't. There is video evidence that X2 and M18 High Output can compete with DeWALT Flexvolt. X2 could in theory be industry leading if it went to 21700 cells because of the extra 5 cells (excluding the flex miter). The DCB1800 at the time didn't really have anything like it but Ego decided to make their take on the power station and have created arguably the best option out there (if you have their batteries): Over 2000 watts, 3 120v plugs, 2 usb a, and can provide power with less than 4 batteries. The DeWALT router got many things right but one flaw it had was the depth adjustment. Having the depth move on me when it is supposedly locked is an unacceptable issue for a tool from a professional tool brand. It is one thing if the Ryobi they tested didn't keep its depth setting because you would expect it to have lower accuracy based on the tool's price point. Milwaukee even got it right and they have never created a trim router before. My theory for the addition of Makita 40v max is form factor. One battery is more compact than two. The new battery line to me seems like Makita is trying to make subcompact high demand tools that would not be possible with a dual battery platform.
  14. @Bigmikez There was nothing new. Everything at the show was already available at HD. They did talk about a new nexus kit that includes 4 5.0 ah batteries and a new model of nexus that includes solar panels. They said more to come in 2020. For me I was hoping for the next wave of commercial line products to be unveiled.
  15. I ordered a Router Raizer to instal on an old Porter Cable router my uncle gave me that is not compatible with standard router lifts. I also got a Gearwrench ratcheting oil filter pliers. I wanted a dedicated oil filter removal tool since I will be changing my own oil filters on the rider and push mowers.
  16. GIE is starting today. It goes until Friday. Anyone going or watching coverage of it? Sounds like Cub Cadet is going to have some new mowers, Ego hinted at more coming in their commercial line, and I'm sure there will be a ton more new stuff.
  17. I had a couple m12 batteries so I figured why not. I have a big commercial mower to take care of so it has been a great addition to the tool collection. I previously did not have an impact wrench. I am confident that just about any bolt or lug on the mower can be removed with the 3/8 stubby. Was it my best option? maybe, maybe not but either way I like the tool.
  18. I am looking to get a good router table for my garage. I don't need a lift, I just need the table, fence, and stand. My router setup will consist of a Porter-Cable 7538 with Router Raizer installed. This is a pretty big router so a good top and mounting plate that won't sag would be ideal. I am not interested in something that mounts to another tool/table I just want a stand alone floor standing unit. I have heard the phenolic tops can be hard to work with/hit or miss so I would probably go with a cast iron top if I can. Any suggestions?
  19. the adapter is so the LXT batteries can charge in the XGT chargers. I'm kinda disappointed. Makita was the last of the big 3 to not go to a new battery platform and they finally gave in and halfway failed. Flexvolt is a new battery platform and so is High Output but they at least work with their regular line of 18v tools.
  20. What was shown at the event was commercial grade Husqvarna, Bosch, Metabot HPT (particularly multivolt), Kobalt, and Spider accessories. Interestingly enough they had no SB&D unless I missed something.
  21. The weight capacities on some of these options would be more than enough.
  22. Personally I don't need a 10 in and don't see why one needs to be released. The current Flexvolt table saw is big enough. How many times am I going to need a 10 in table saw? 99% of the time you probably aren't cutting anything more than 2-1/2 inches which the flexvolt is more than capable.
  23. The new Lowes thing isn't fully implemented. The first stores just started the transition process. It is unlikely that they had the new pro oriented features yet.
  24. I'm not sure how the blade will be mounted. I have not installed a blade before. I was going to have my mower mechanic install the blade.I may see if he has any good ideas for mounting lights.
