pancing
I heard a bunch commotion the other day from a few friends that have the new flexvolt recip saw that it stalls during wierd shit like cutting through wood with large nails or straight sheet metal then I saw this. jeffmcmillan
Sounds like a bad tool or bs test. The nails are the easiest part on the saw and hardest on the blade.

I think I can see exactly why this happened, it's clear from the video...the vibrations on the Dewalt is so great the battery was flopping around like cowboy in a rodeo, probably interfered with the connection long enough to stall the motor. Either way that was painful to watch.

MikeyB
I would like to see the new Makita 36V up against the Flexvolt... Milwaukee make a great recip saw, corded or cordless.
wildroamer
Has there been a comparison of the Mak with the Milwhacky?

It might just be a faulty tool but im a but yeah im at a loss for words.

Battery contacts should always have enough pressure to maintain contact under vibration. Dewalt does tend to have very loose batteries compared to others but that was really flopping around. It's almost like the connection wasn't designed to handle such a large pack. @wildroamer @MikeyB Toolpig did some comparisons of the Fuel, Flexvolt, and Makita on periscope but it was just random tests of a couple pairings on a different materials. I think we all want an Oz Tool Talk review with splitscreen though

AnonymousJoe
That looked bad but after the stall it looks like it went thru the last 4 nails easily. Either way after all the hype I was expecting the flexvolt to really dominate the Milwaukee and that didn't happen.

ChrisK
Hahahaha though I would agree with Jimbo. The problem with those types of videos is it's easy to make a biased video and show skewed results. I'm not saying he did this but like every other one of his videos, I tend not to take them too serious. At least he got rid of that porn star intro.

Stercorarius
Sorry but that sparky video was quite possibly the most obnoxious thing I've ever watched. I get it, it's like your being a sports announcer. Never again. I don't think anyone was really expecting a DeWalt to beat the original king. We were all hoping, but our hopes were not that high. That being said the 20v reciprocating saw and Bosch 18v cut apart exhaust systems just as quickly as a fuel so they can all go eat a burlap bag of
DR99
I'm not a huge Sparky Channel friend. I'm not a fan of the narration style of video he does its just annoying with the crazy over done voice over.
